Substances are what we eat, drink inhale that make our body healthy.

For examples,

1. Food

4. Inhaler, etc.

There are forms of substance are solid, liquid and gas.

Reasons why we take substances into the body

1. curiosity.

2. experimentation.

3. celebration.

4. to feel good.

5. to lose their inhibitions.

6. to cope with difficult feelings (e.g. anger, stress, anxiety, boredom, depression, etc.)

7. to boost confidence.

Soil is the uppermost layer of the earth crust where plants can grow

There are three types of soil namely;

1. sandy soil

2. clay soil
3. loamy soil

Uses of soil to plants

1. as a medium for plants to grow

2. as a source of nutrient and air

3. it protects the plant from erosion

4. it stores water for plant use

5. it houses microorganisms necessary for the growth of plants

Importance of soil to man

1. Soil is used planting rice, bean, yam, vegetable, tree and flowers.

2. Soil is used building houses, schools, hospitals, markets, etc.

3. Soil is used for making well and borehole.

4. Soil is used making building materials like blocks, roofing, etc.

5. Soil is used for building bridges.

6. Soil is used for feeding domestic animals.

THE IMPORTANCE OF SOIL TO ANIMALS

1. The soil provides food and water for the animals.

2. The soil provides home and protection for the animals. Many animals like ants, worm, rats, crab, etc.
live inside the soil.

4. Inform someone if you feel sick or are wounded

5. have a little warm up exercise before commencing any football game
