Previous Knowledge: Students are aware of the term temperature, hot and cold and use
of thermometer

Objectives:

Students will be able to: 1) Understand the concept of hot and cold.2)Able to use a thermometer
to measure the temperature. 3)Understand the various types of thermometer used. 4)Define the
term conductors and insulators, conduction, convection and radiation . 5)Understand the cause of
sea breeze and land breeze. 6) Application of the concepts in everyday life

TOPICS: 1) Hot and cold

2) Measuring temperature

3) Laboratory and clinical thermometer 4)Transfer of heat 4) Kinds of clothes we wear in

summer and winter.

Presentation: 1) Testing previous knowledge by asking questions related to the instances of

their daily life.2) Introduction of topic through activity . 3) Explanation of the topics by using
videos, ppt, activities .
Explanation of the content: Teacher will explain about

1) Concept of hot and cold due to difference in temperature..2)Structure and use of

thermometers. 3)Conduction of heat through various materials to study conuctors and
insulators 4)Process of conduction ,convection and radiation 5)cause of sea breeze and
land breeze 6)Application of the concepts in everyday life.

Assessment: Teacher gives a recap and assesses the knowledge by oral test

5) Why do we wear cotton clothes in summer and wollen clothes in winter?

Home assignment: Enlist the temperatures of various foods/liquids available at your home.
