Introduction of theories

Implicit personality theory

Implicit personal theory refers to an individual's unspoken or unconsciously

recognised views or assumptions about themselves, others, and the world
around them. These theories are established through personal experiences,
observations, and socialisation, and they impact how people see and interpret
information, make decisions, and behave. Implicit personal theories can cover a
wide range of topics, including intelligence, personality, relationships, success,
and morality.

Heuristic

Heuristics are generic cognitive frameworks that people typically employ in order
to solve problems quickly.Heuristics are methods or strategies that frequently
lead to problem solutions but are not always successful. Heuristics are reliable
but imperfect; when using broad decision-making "shortcuts" to direct one's
response to specific situations, errors are unavoidable and have the potential to
catalyse recurring blunders.

Working self - concept

The working self-concept (WSC) is the highly active, contextually sensitive

component of the self-concept that governs behaviour and information
processing on a moment-by-moment basis. Different portions of the WSC may
be engaged according on what is happening in one's current situation. Being a
parent, a husband, and having a job, for example, can all be components of
one's self-concept. When the relevant social signals are available, these
alternative self-concepts become active and are linked to diverse social
situations.

Image 5 Peter chase the bus because of his late Image 6 Peter tripped off because bully by others

Implicit personality theory relate with Spider-man movie

Peter Parker lives with his uncle and aunt because his parents died when he
was young. Peter is an introvert, and he rarely interacts with those around him.
His uncle and aunt both thought he was a touch too introverted and that he
should communicate more with his pals. There is a neighbour girl who lives
next door to his house who believes Peter is too introverted, so whenever Peter
is bullied at school, she constantly lends a helping hand and chases the bullies
away.

2
One of Peter's few close friends was Harry Osborne. Harry's father describes
Peter as polite and responsible rather than clumsy and shy. Flash Thompson is
a person who liked to make fun of and ridicule Peter; he always laughed at the
point of Peter's clumsiness and shyness, and as a result, he failed to
understand the real Peter. Didn't take him seriously at all. His friends would
grab him and knock him to the ground while he was trying to locate a seat
every time he headed to school to catch the bus.

The above description is consistent with the implicit personality theory. According
to implicit personality theory, we recognise our biases based on the limited
information we have about people we aren't familiar with well. The same may be
said for Flash in the Spider-Man film. He just sees Peter's fragility and
introversion on the surface, and because he does not wish to have a deep
connection and mutual understanding with Peter, he is unable to understand
Peter's underlying goodness, which is the true Peter's kindness and gentleness.

3
Heuristic - representative heuristic relate with Spider-man movie

When there are criminals or threats in the city, Peter Parker will put on his
Spider-Man suit and transform into Spider-Man to defuse the situation. Peter
Parker/Spider-Man is a barrier, an obstruction, a stumbling block in the plan, a
horrible existence in the eyes of the bad guys. However, from the victims' point
of view, Spider-Man (Peter Parker) is a saviour, a hero who will save them
from dangerous situations.

Because Spider-Man (Peter Parker) has repeatedly selflessly dedicated to

disasters and dangers in New York City, and has been saving and protecting
people while also fighting criminals, a stereotype has gradually formed that just
by seeing Spider-Man (Peter Parker), they will know that they will be safe, and
feel that Spider-Man (Peter Parker) is a saviour and trusts Spider-Man (Peter
Parker) from the bottom of his heart.

Image 7 spider-man in the fire scene Image 8 spider-man success in rescue baby

For example, one morning there was a fire in a city house, and a family's baby
was unfortunately trapped inside, and the firefighters received a stimulus in the
event of a fire, they judged that the house was on the verge of collapsing, and
they had to decide to terminate the rescue operation and evacuate the crowd in
order to protect everyone's safety. In this moment, the mother appears to be a
victim on the verge of despair, because no one was willing to help her save her
kid at the time, and she also felt the stimulation of despair.

4
At this point, Spider-Man (Peter Parker) arrived on the scene and rushed
immediately into the flames, successfully rescuing the baby and returning it to
the mother of the family. The mother considered Spider-Man (Peter Parker) as
a saviour, willing to rush into the fire to save her kid when she felt hopeless or
even powerless, and as her spirit was encouraged, she transformed from
despair to prayer.

She knew Spider-Man (Peter Parker) would save her, and she hoped Spider-
Man (Peter Parker) would save her baby from the fire. In the end, Spider-Man
(Peter Parker) succeeded, and she thanked and prayed to God to bless Spider-
Man (Peter Parker), believing that Spider-Man (Peter Parker) was a saviour
who saved all living beings from danger.

The previously mentioned description also matches the representational heuristic

claims. Representational heuristics describe our technique of making decisions
based on how similar a current stimulus or event is to other stimuli or categories,
which may lead to stereotyping. In the Spider-Man film, the mother and son who
were saved by Spider-Man expressed their gratitude to him. The mother, who
was already nervous about her child being trapped in the fire, was relieved when
Spider-Man appeared and saved her child. The mother thanked Spider-Man right
away for saving her child.

At this point, the mother's emotions switched from worry to relief to gratitude to
Spider-Man, causing the mother's emotions to change up and down. The
emotional tension, along with the tension generated by the fire scene and Spider-
Man's rescue, caused the mother unable to think rationally, and the stereotype of
Spider-Man has more or less formed in her mind that Spider-Man has become
the existence of the saviour.

Image 9 Spider-man defeats green goblin Image 10 Spider-man fight until full of scars

Image 11 Peter speak with her grandma Image 12 Peter - spider-man unmasked

Working Self Concept relate with Spider-man movie

There is a huge difference between Peter Parker wearing a mask and Peter
Parker removing the mask. They are, in fact, two different individuals. When
Peter Parker puts on a mask, he transforms into Spider-Man to assist poor
victims in need of assistance as well as to punish and restrain criminals. As
Spider-Man, he showed his strength and fearlessness during this moment. He
must not exhibit any signs of weakness at this moment. The vicious criminals
obstruct him from doing so, and the weak victims also require his strength to be
rescued.

This is the agreement he and Uncle Ben reached. The higher one's ability, the
greater one's responsibility. When faced with the choice of how to use his power,
the good-hearted Peter Parker chose to use it for the benefit of others rather than
for his own selfish purposes. However, too much power may drive others to be
envious and jealous, and they may then take action against Peter Parker,
affecting his main concern, his family. In order to avoid his family being harassed
and disturbed, he chose to wear a mask to hide his identity, and silently helped
victims in need and punished criminals who harmed others in the dark.

6
Peter Parker, who took off his mask, returned to his usual kindness and
tenderness. This is also the normal Peter Parker in the eyes of others, and more
importantly, he does not want to cause his family members to worry because of
too much change. His precious family member, which is his grandma, was left
after Uncle Ben passed away. He absolutely didn't want to cause this old woman
to worry. The old woman`s health is not good. If she is too frightened, it may hurt
her body. This is also what Peter Parker has taken into account, and it is also an
important factor in Peter Parker's decision to hide Spider-Man's identity.

However, Peter Parker's return to normal also has a disadvantage: he cannot

use excessive power at will when he is still in a normal state. If there is an urgent
event in front of him, Peter has to retreat temporarily, and he can only go into
battle after he puts on the Spider-Man suit. This may also be the curse of his
choice to become Spider-Man. Originally, he had the power to solve the
predicament in front of him, but he had to stand by and wait until he put on a
mask before going into battle. The kind-hearted man must be struggling because
this move more or less violated his heart.

The above description fits with the working self-concept theory. Peter Parker
when he became Spider-Man and Peter Parker when he socialised normally
showed completely different attitudes and behaviours. The strength and bravery
shown by Peter Parker when transformed into Spider-Man are more like his work
attitude, and the friendliness, gentleness, and kindness shown when returning to
normal social interaction are more like his social attitude.

7
Conclusion

SUMMARY OF REPORT

The radioactive spider that bit Peter Parker bestowed upon him extraordinary
abilities, which he uses to help others, but his personal life is still full of
difficulties. Peter Parker, a teenage technological genius, uses his remarkable
spider-like abilities to fight criminals and pursue his dream of joining the
Avengers as Spider-Man. Make the correct decision. It is sometimes preferable
to go against the norm and do what you instinctively believe is right. Spider-Man
normally has rather righteous intuition, so when he decides he needs to take a
risk, or even endanger his life, he doesn't hesitate.

Significance of social psychology in real life

Social psychology helps to manage stress, depression, and other social

disorders, as well as improve decision-making and accurately anticipate future
behaviour based on knowledge of past behaviour. Knowing more about social
psychology can help you better understand yourself and the world around you.
By learning more about how people perceive others, behave in groups, and form
attitudes, you can gain a better grasp of how social interactions effect individual
functioning.

Lesson learns from this assignment

We must help one another for no reason. When someone among our people is in
trouble, we must take care of him. We must collaborate in groups. For those who
believe us, we must be on our best behaviour. Finally, whatever happens, we
must work together to solve the problem before it becomes something serious.
