Section 1: Review
During this course I have learnt that theatre isn’t the pretentious art-form I used to think it was. I have
learned that it is a well-respected profession and can be a lot more than the mainstream stereotypical
views suggest. I have learnt to go beyond my comfort zone in aspects of life I never thought I would
encounter in this course, such as high-pressure socialising in a group and quick, on-your-feet type of
idea creation. In this process, I have developed a passion for acting like I never have with opportunities
arising for faster than I can accept them. Recently, I was invited to be in a short film for a media student
in second year. I have also learnt that working with others isn’t as scary as I once thought. People in this
business have one goal and one goal alone: Create good drama. This means that they will go to any
lengths to make sure that the people involved are having an active role and feel as comfortable as
possible. After college I would like to get straight to work in the film and TV industry as an actor and try
to get recognition and happiness as a result of my labours.

Section 2: Project Concept

Our play “buckets.” (With a lower case ‘b’) is a play with no agenda, characters or locations. With the
same style as “Love and Information” this play has a blank space where a name would be and can be
put up for interpretation. This allows us to get our creative juices flowing and turn this dark comedy in a
hilariously black masterpiece! My research for this started with my presentation which was about pop
culture in theatre through history. This helped me to understand where our current trends and pop
culture came from by looking back at what came before. For my scenes, I have been given the godsend
in the form of Scene 30: Terms and Conditions. This scene is about an A.I leading a human into the real
world where they will be born. My vision of the scene has two characters which include the A.I (called
L1F3) and the human (which I thought of naming Jon). To perfect this scene, we have three weeks of
intensive rehearsals which will be time well spent to hone this craft. The use of peer feedback is
paramount for me as where is humanity without peers? Peer reviews will be the early lifeblood of how
the scene will look and will help us make the decisions we do to make this great.

Section 3: Evaluation
To reflect and note down my ideas and plans, I am using my weekly reflection videos to outline what I
have been doing over the weeks, including some accompanying notes in my notebook. This helps me
propose and cross-off ideas with the group that may impact how the play moves forward. To actually put
these ideas and plots into motion, I will regularly note them down in my script and notebook to make
sure these ideas aren’t lost to the eternal sand of time. When working with others, it’s important to keep
a professional standard in spite of any distractions. These distractions could be personal quarrels with
certain individuals or unprofessional work in general. To cope with this, I must remember that this show
will go on no matter what and means that I will have to work hard and temporarily put these issues aside
and focus on the task at hand.
