RATIONALE OF THE STUDY

“Utilizing Jatropha curcas (Tuba) and Cocos nucifera (Buko) Juice to

Increase the Number of Platelets for Anemia.”

Anemia is a condition that develops when the blood produces a lower-than-

normal amount of healthy red blood cells. Anemia means not getting enough
oxygen-rich blood. The lack of oxygen can make a person feel tired or weak
(National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, 2022). One of the most common
problems that people experience is being anemic. To address this issue, there is a
pressing need to investigate the change in the platelet number of an anemic person
using tuba (Jatropha curcas) and buko (Cocos nucifera) juice. Although much
research has been done on anemia, the precise mechanisms that lead to a decrease
in the number of human platelets are not yet fully understood. So the researcher will
conduct a study on how to increase the number of platelets in an anemic person by
utilizing Jatropha curcas (Tuba) and Cocos nucifera (Buko) juice. This study aims to
determine the effectiveness of tuba (Jatropha curcas) and buko (Cocos nucifera)
juice in increasing the number of platelets and to prove and know if the research to
be conducted by the researcher will help increase the platelets of a person with
anemia or low platelet number.
