Social medias have revolutionized the way of communicating, relating with the others and living
the real life. A number of studies have been carried out about on the effects networks have on users
and to understand how their perception of the world has been changed: social media often produce
real emotions even if they are "only" virtual spaces.
Nowadays, the most used networks are Facebook, Youtube, Twitter and Instagram: the all have
both positive and negative consequences on the mental health of the users. From the one hand,
reality is often confused with fiction as there are many people who, in order to be "perfect" on
social media, modify their photos and this can cause episodes of insecurity in today's young people,
who are not seen reflected in the "perfect prototype" that society imposes on us; from the other
hand, social can help raise awareness of important topics for our generation, such as violence
against women or cyberbullying, many are the teenagers who are mocked by their schoolmates: if
we search on internet we will surely found out several websites about creating memes on people.
These repeated acts of harassment often involve elements of psychological pressure that are more
invasive, mortifying than traditional bullying. Many recent studies show that bullying on social
media has grown over time in tandem with the expansion of networks.
