Sheet 3
Problem #1
Production interval 6507-6551 ft
Tubing depth 6500 ft
Static pressure at 6500 ft 2000 psig
Tubing size 2 3/8 inch
Horsepower 32
Gas is available at 15 psig. what would be the well’s production rate on gas lift,
assuming a THP of 250 psig? The well is currently flowing 200 bbl/day of clean oil
with a GOR of 600 cuft/bbl and a CHP of 1225 psig.
Problem #2
Production interval 9050-9200 ft
2 7/8 inch tubing 9100 ft
Static pressure at 9100 ft 3000 psig
PI 0.333 bbl/day/psi
GOR 450 cuft/bbl
Water cut zero

a) Determine the natural rate of flow with a THP of 150 psig.

b) If 240000 cuft/day of high pressure gas is available for gas lifting, at what rate
could the well be gas lifted while maintaining the THP at 150 psig? what gas
injection pressure would be required to maintain this pressure?
c) If the high pressure gas were only available at 700 psig, what gas lift
production rate could be attained at the same THP, and how deep would be
the lowest gas injection point?
