Sheet 1

A well producing from 5000 to 5040 ft is completed with 2 7/8 inch tubing set at
5000 ft . Production is clean, the well’s PI is 0.5 bbl/day/psi, and the GLR is
300cuft/bbl .

1. what will be the well flow rate against a THP of 100 psi if the static BHP is :
a) 1400 psi.
b) 1300 psi.

2. At which static pressure the well will not be able to produce naturally?

3. Consider Ps is 1350 psi, what will be the maximum possible production rate
using optimum GLR? Also, determine the value of that optimum GLR!

4. Calculate the required volume of gas to be injected.

5. What will be the horsepower of the compressor required to gas-lift the

well, assuming gas were available at 50 psi?
