PROJECT TITLE

How much money do students spend on food at school on a daily basis?

3
INTRODUCTION

Money is a medium of exchange that is generally accepted as payment for goods

and services and repayment of debts in a given country or socio-economic context.

Money is essential for meeting our basic needs such as food, shelter and clothing.

The purpose of this project is to obtain data on how much money students spend on

food on a daily basis.

4
METHOD OF DATA COLLECTION

Four students of The Hampton All Girls School were randomly chosen and asked

to complete a short questionnaire. The questionnaire asked students of their

names, age, what form they are in, how much money do they get to take to school

daily, the amount they usually spent on food and the amount of money that is

usually left after spending.

ANALYSIS OF DATA

The table shows that the mean amount of money spent on food on a daily basis by

students was a $1000 and less. The graph clearly shows that two of the students

spent more than half of their money they got to take to school on food. Therefore,

they have a little amount of money left which is also shown in the graph. The other

two students spent less money on food and have a good amount of money left.

7
DISCUSSION OF FINDINGS

While students spend money on food on a daily basis, they save a fine sum of

money from what they take to school. To carry out this investigation, I the

researcher, organized a short questionnaire for the four students that were

randomly chosen to complete to give their response/s in regards of how much

money do students spend on food at school on a daily basis. I recorded that from

$300 to $700 was spent by the four students on a daily basis.

8
CONCLUSION

The purpose of this research was to investigate and determine how much money

students spend on food at school on a daily basis. As was seen from the data

presented above, it is shown the amount of money they take to school, the amount

they spent on food and the amount remaining after spending money on food.

Hence, even though students spend money on food some is left over and can be put

in savings or to do personal things.
