Title
An investigation into the amount of money 30 grade 10 students of BSS spend after Covid-19
pandemic?
Objectives
To find out how much 30 grade 10 business students at BSS are given per day and the
highest and lowest allowance.
Introduction
This school-based assessment is based on an investigation into the amount of money 30 grade 10
students of BSS spent after the covid-19 pandemic. A researcher was done in the past by Hanna
Mckenzie in the US and it stated that student spending priorities have also notably changed
during the pandemic. For instance, 45% of survey respondents claimed that they spent most of
their money on alcohol before the pandemic. This semester 60% noted that most of their budget
has gone to food.
In Guyana Fifth form students spend their money on food and savings. In Bygeval Secondary
School; because of the covid-19 pandemic most students prefer to not buy snacks and decided to
bring home made food rather than buying from the school

Discussion of Findings
An Investigation was carried out in Bygeval Secondary School on the amount of money 30 grade
10 business students spent after the covid-19 pandemic. According to the information that was
gathered, analyzed and interpreted. It shows that students balanced their spending while saving.
From the investigation that was carried out, the researchers were able to collect information
about their allowance in balancing their spending and saving. It includes:
The researchers found that a minority of children save from their allowances.10% of total
students said they saved.
The researchers found that majority of the students are given a Large amount of money
$1500-More And a medium amount of students receives allowance between $600-$1500
in which most of them don’t include transportation fees. A reason for this could be
because of the rise in prices of certain needs (goods and services)
The researchers found that majority of the students spent their money on food (%50).
Students rather purchase food from the canteen than to bring home-made food to school;
reason for this action is because many students are probably being bullied and being
made fun of the food that was prepared for them therefore causes the students to buy food
so that they can be among others.
Conclusion
This School Based Assessment is based on the amount of money the fourth form students of
Bygeval Secondary School spend and save after the Covid 19 pandemic.
