What is Emotional
Intelligent?
Emotional intelligence is a person's ability to use and
understand emotions (both other people's emotions and
one's own emotions) with the aim of improving physical
and mental health.

A person with good emotional intelligence is able to


control emotions when angry, is sensitive to other
people's feelings, etc.

# In Daniel Goleman's book "Emotional Intelligence" it is explained that emotional intelligence is responsible for 80%
of success, and 20% is determined by IQ

# According to Howard Gardner (1983), there are five main points of a person's emotional intelligence, namely being
able to realize and manage one's own emotions, having sensitivity to other people's emotions, being able to respond
and negotiating with other people emotionally, and being able to use emotions as a tool to motivate oneself. Apart
from that, someone who has good emotional intelligence is easier to trust, can adapt well, can get along and work
together in a team, has a high sense of knowledge, and has high motivation.

# Daniel Goleman, a psychologist and author of a famous book on EQ, describes emotional intelligence as the ability
to recognize emotions, understand what causes them to arise, and manage emotions wisely.
According to him, EQ consists of five main components: emotional awareness, emotional management, self-
motivation, empathy, and social skills.

# Jhon Mayer and Peter Salovey were two psychologists who first introduced the term "Emotional Intelligence. For
them, EQ is the ability to understand and manage emotions, and use these emotions productively in everyday life.
