4 General requirements
For safety requirements, homologation (in particular, exhaust emissions) and quality, the existing statutory
requirements and laws shall be complied with. In addition, the relevant requirements of Daimler AG apply.
All materials, procedures, processes, components, and systems shall conform to the current regulatory
(governmental) requirements regarding regulated substances and recyclability.
Knitted fabrics shall be free of production defects of any type which would impair the processing and utili-
zation properties or the appearance. The visible knitted fabric distortion over the whole width shall not be
more than 2,0 %. The knitted fabric shall not change its lengthwise or crosswise dimensions during stor-
age or further processing by more than 1 % (e.g. no excessive wind-up tension). The knitted fabrics shall
be capable of die-cutting and sufficiently slip resistant. The back of the fabrics shall be capable of perfect
adhesion with the adhesives used. All product versions shall be soft and supple and largely insensitive to
pressure, creases and water drops. Laminated-on material shall not become separated from the knitted
fabrics either during processing or during normal use.
For foam-laminated decors, the adhesive laminating process is preferred.
The availability of a certificate of testing in accordance with the following method is specified as an over-
riding requirement for adherence to the emission values for interior materials: VDA 278; threshold values
for individual substances DBL 8585.
The user is responsible for checking whether the version in his possession is the latest version. In particu-
lar in the case of substances listed in DBL 8585, the supplier is required to continuously minimize the con-
centration and emission at least in accordance with the state of the art, even when values have fallen be-
low the required DBL threshold values.
4.2 Width
In accordance with order (width tolerance +50/-3 mm, unless otherwise required)
6 Technical data
Refer to Table 2.
7 Test methods
Refer to DIN EN ISO (see Table 2) / DBL 5306, Part II, and DBL 5307.
7.1 Stiffness
Place a diagonally cut test strip 250 mm long and 50 mm wide on a table with the upper side facing up-
wards so that 100 mm rest on the table and 150 mm project over the table. Load with a weight (20 N) flush
to the table edge. Using a bracket fixed to the table edge, measure the degree of sag of the strip due to its
own weight immediately at the end of the test strip.
7.2 More precise indication of color fastness (hot light fastness) and aging (hot light
aging) against artificial light at high temperatures in accordance with DIN EN ISO
105-B06
Exposure conditions:
Assessment:
Comparison of exposed specimen with original specimen for light source D65.
Assessment with blue scale (references).
Assessment:
Comparison of exposed specimen with original specimen for light source D65.
Assessment with gray scale in accordance with DIN EN 20105-A02.
