HYDRA 325 – HYDRAULICS

Laboratory Experiment Number 1:
Fluid Properties

I. Objectives:
This laboratory experiment aims:
1. To utilize typical fluids (liquids) found in the household in demonstrating the
physical properties of fluids.
2. To determine fluid properties of typical fluids (liquids) such as mass, volume,
density, unit weight, specific volume, and specific gravity.

II. Theory:
1. NOTE: This section should include a brief narrative of the topic, definition of terms,
list of formulas, and description of variables.

III. Apparatus:
1. NOTE: This section should include a list of materials and equipment used with
properly captioned photos or images.
2. NOTE: This section should also include the quantity of each material and
equipment as necessary for the experiment.

IV. Procedures:
1. NOTE: This section should contain a step-by-step process on how the experiment
was conducted.
2. NOTE: This section should also contain the safety measures observed in
conducting the experiment.
3. NOTE: This section should also include photo documentations in each step as
necessary.

VI. Discussion:

1. List the reasons for different readings of the same fluid?

2. Suggest ways to improve the experiment?
3. What are the factors affecting the density of the fluid?

VII. Conclusion:

VIII. Documentation:

References:
1. List all the references used for the theory and discussion, if there are.
