GUIDELINES FOR COLLEGE MASS DANCE PRESENTATION

1. Each college department shall have a three (3) to five (5) minutes mass dance
presentation with a minimum of 40 participants and a maximum of 50.
2. All performers must be 1st year college students representing their own department.
3. College governors/vice-governors and faculty representatives must participate in the
presentation.
4. Dance trainers should consist of individuals from their own department. Hiring trainers
outside the school campus or from other college departments is strictly not allowed.
5. The group must be in the contest area on time. Failure to come on time will receive a
five-point deduction from the total score.
6. The order of the performances will be determined according to the number they had
picked prior to the contest.
7. Music should be wholesome and lively and must not contain any subliminal, sexually
suggestive, or vulgar lyrics/ language.
8. Music such as remixes are allowed.
9. Renting and buying costumes is strictly prohibited. No amount of money shall be spent
on costumes.
10. Use of props will be allowed as long as it will not cause any delay in the program and
must not disrupt the performance of other groups. Props such as confetti, glass, sharp
objects, and others that may cause harm are prohibited.
11. The performers must follow the proper dress code during the competition.
12. The music must be submitted to the committee of the said competition at least two days
before the acquaintance party.

CRITERIA FOR JUDGING:


1. Choreography and Creativity (30 points)
 Complexity and synchronization.
 Precision, coordination, and mastery of dance techniques.
2. Artistic Expression (25 points)
 Conveying emotion and storytelling through movement.
 Use of facial expressions and body language to enhance performance.
 Conveying the meaning and emotions of the song.
 Confidence, engagement with the audience, and appropriate body
language.
3. Group Coordination (20 points)
 Unity, formation changes, and transitions.
 Maintaining rhythm and tempo as a group.
 Achieving a cohesive sound as a group.
4. Creativity and Originality (15)
 Unique movements, concepts, or staging.
 Integration of props, costumes, or themes.
5. Overall Presentation (10 points)
 Overall impression and engagement of the audience.
 Preparedness, attire, and overall stage presence.
