In this tutorial, I will show you how to draw a cartoon cat in eight easy steps. Grab your pencils and paper and let’s start drawing!
Step 1: To begin, draw two circles. The first circle on the right is for the chest area of the cat. The slightly larger circle on the left if for the bottom of the cat.

Step 2: Now draw a third circle. Add curved triangular ears. Then draw ovals for eyes and the nose. Add the chin and whisker sections.
Step 3: Draw the legs using a series of ovals. A larger oval for the upper thigh area, a slightly smaller and longer oval for the lower part of the leg. Add horizontal ovals for
the feet. Due to the angle, only three of the cat’s paws are visible. Finally, add a tail.
Step 4: Trace over the legs of the cartoon cat so that the ovals attach. Add the pads of the paws.

Step 5: It’s time to add some detail to the cat’s face. Draw another oval around each of the eyes. Add eyebrows, a mouth, and a tongue. Draw the inside of the ears and
add a tuft of hair on the top of his head.
Step 6: We’re almost done! Add in the final details. Include the hair around his jaw, the cat whiskers. Draw in ovals for the light reflecting in the cat’s eyes. Add a
squeaky toy mouse.

Step 7: Ink the drawing.
Step 7: Using pens, a brush, markers or the computer, ink over your pencil lines in order to make the image pop. For this tutorial, I’ve inked the cartoon cat drawing in
Adobe Illustrator.
Step 8: Color.
Step 8: Finish the drawing by coloring it in. That’s it! Congratulations, you now know how to draw a cartoon cat!
