PARISA PATEL
Hello, my name is Parisa Patel and I’m the leader of group 5 for our business project. Being a team leader
means a lot of responsibility and requires a lot of skills such as planning, making decisions, communication
and guiding others. I help my team members in all their tasks while taking initiative for the production,
marketing and designing tasks and making sure all the deadlines and goals are met. I played a big role in the
brainstorming and execution aspect of our product too, like organising meetings for brainstorming ideas,
collecting supplies for our prototype and figuring out the strategic issues of the prototype with my team. A
great thing about our team is that when there were conflicts they were resolved well and patiently, all our
group members had a say in all the decisions and there was active participation from everyone in all the
discussions. It was a great team effort. The whole project was managed well by every member in the group
and everyone contributed some great ideas. There were a few bumps along the way of the project such as our
initial prototypes not working due to the lack of accessible professional production systems for us but after a
lot of trial and error we finally came up with a successful and affordable product. Somethings we could have
improved on were adhering to timelines, clear role distribution and adequately researching on the prototype
before producing it. As a leader, I also monitored and intervened where I thought that the team needed to be
motivated. I used communication as an important tool to make sure our project was successful. I’m very
satisfied with my contribution to the project and have helped kept things well on track. I think my role
involved me doing a little bit of everything which gave me a great rounded experience of everything closely
from brainstorming ideas to executing them successfully. This project would not have been possible without 02
the cooperation and contribution of my team members.

Designing a product, well it is a challenging thing. Coming up with an idea, those are all parts of
life. The technical aspects however were something else altogether. Trial and error start and restart
should be daily life. But the satisfaction received from achieving the goal is infinitely more. This
started like any and all businesses start. Brainstorming. Whether it is in your mind by yourself, a
flame while looking for a spark or a group discussion towards a common goal [as we did] all are
essentially the same. Our group was very productive, ideas being thrown around everywhere. But
one rose above all else. A sustainable torch for a sustainable future. That was where NovaTorch
was born. Me having the most technical hard skills started to put a plan while everybody helped in
the aspects of their specialty. One cannot teach teamwork better. And soon in the blink of an eye,
the designing is done. We just needed to make a rough prototype. And there lo the hunt began. A
long process jumping from one shop to the other, trial error, trial error. That long night, we had
finally hit the goldmine of success. We got it to work for a little while. We saw the success but also
we did realise, we would need a specialised component. All of this trial and error one after another
is a lesson for us – something school cannot teach. Looking back I am satisfied with all our
collective effort. We did the impossible, we summited the impossible peak, we reached the
unreachable star. [Frankly it was not that hard but I would not underestimate the project]. I would
just have preferred it to be a bit more smooth sailing with deadlines. 03
ASHI CHOKHANI
Making the Nova was hard work but all worth it in the end, From designing
to making it. I contributed to this project by first editing the entire intro
video by myself. Then, I went on to help the rest of my teammates with the
presentation that we did of our ideas and even took some photographs here
and there. In the production process, I did a lot of the cutting and putting
together the prototype, helping in soldering, connecting wires and even
filming close-ups here and there. Then I also wrote an essay on our
production process explaining in detail how we made our product what
materials were used the costs, etc. We as a team filled out the forms I
contributed by always joining on Zoom calls and in real-life meetings,
helping design and bringing our idea to life. The making of the product did
go well. Still, I wish that I would have known to get sharper supplies to help
saw through the tube we used as that was what consumed most of our time.
However, I helped around enough with my team.

I was in charge of making the action plan for our product and the also for coordinating most of the communication
amongst our group. I was mainly responsible for organising our gatherings and meet ups to work on the product and as
well as creating the action plan for our product and promoting it through social media. I assisted my teammates with
several other tasks such as editing the video, creating the prototype and social media promotion. Organising times for
us to meet was a slightly difficult task as we all have schedules that clash with each other’s. However, with everyone’s
cooperation and dedication, making time for this project became much easier than I expected it to be. Whether it was
an online zoom meeting or just for an hour after school, every form of communication facilitated effective
collaboration and ensured a seamless exchange of ideas. My teammates and I have made the most of every moment we
have had to work on this on project and contributed tremendous efforts to make our project successful.
Since the past few month, my friends and I have been researching, planning meetups, locating resources and working
hard to turn our idea into a prototype. We did face challenges while making the prototype and multiple failures occured
due to lack of resources as our product requires a professional factory setup to be built and modified properly.
However, with our consistent effort and commitment we finally succeeded to make a successful prototype. During this
program, I have learned to make efficient dec. It has enhanced my decision making, researching and cooperative/team
working skills as well as expanded my knowledge on mechanics and solar energy. I am satisfied with my contribution
as I have not only efficiently carried out the tasks allocated to me but also helped my teammates with struggles they
faced and contributed something in every aspect of the project. I have learned that communication is the key to any
successful partnership and every member of a team has a vital role.
We have not faced any major problems with communication and team-building activities successfully created a sense
of unity. Technical aspects were also well handled and a more balanced task distribution would further streamline our
collaborative efforts. More in-depth research in the beginning could have helped us out by saving time and preventing 05
many failures, however without these failures we would not have realised the power of consistent effort, a positive
mindset and research. Learning from this mistake has now led us to creating a successful prototype.
MALIHA GOEL
In our group project, I helped a lot by working on both the product
development and making PowerPoint slides. I was the weebly
editor and also tried contributing by giving my original idea for the
product , helped keep track of time , helped in promotional
activities . Everyone in our group did their part equally and made
time to work together. We were good at coordinating our
schedules, which helped us work well together. But for future
projects, I think it would be better if we all could have divided
ourselves into small groups of 2 and then giving each of them
tasks . This would help in getting things done faster and work
more smoothly . This could also help us do even better and use our
time efficiently. I'm happy with how I contributed to the project. I
was involved in everything, from coming up with ideas to getting
things done. My work was important in making sure we reached
our goals and finished the project successfully. Looking back, I
think I played a valuable role in the group and helped us succeed. 06
MIRAYA SEHGAL
In this project, I was the communication manager and I was also in charge of the
production and design of the product .I arranged every meeting with Aanya. I helped
out my team mates by Making the product blueprint, creating a power point
presentation to present a couple of our product ideas, and completing numerous
other jobs were among the many duties I assisted my teammates with. Along with
purchasing materials, I also made a contribution by attending all of our in-person
and virtual meetings. A few things we could have done differently were to start
thinking about product ideas much sooner and finalize it. I was really satisfied that
all of our meetings were really productive and that everyone was always on time
Although creating a product is difficult and takes a lot of time, there are a few
things we could have done differently, like brainstorming ideas earlier and
finalizing it, as this would have helped avoid confusion. Nevertheless, despite all of
these minor difficulties, we were able to come up with the product “Nova”. my
overall experience with working with my peers was incredible. I've learned a lot of
new skills, including time management, and that teamwork and hard work always
pay off. There have never been any major issues, but there have been occasions
when we weren't always on the same page, but in the end, we were always able to 07
come up with a solution.
