On November 28, 2023, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta hosted an impressive academic

collaboration between two distinguished professors. Dr. Abd. Razak bin Zakaria from the
University of Malaya and Dr. Twediana Budi Hapsari, Ph.D from Universitas Muhammadiyah
Yogyakarta led a prestigious discussion on the "Impact of the Internet on Mental Health" within
the context of the Sociology of Communication course.

The event took place in Amphitheater E7.B, filled with enthusiasm and interest from students
and academic staff. The discussion commenced with a brief presentation by Dr. Abd. Razak, who
brought his experience and expertise from the University of Malaya to address social behavioral
changes and the psychological impact of excessive internet exposure.

As the host, Dr. Twediana Budi Hapsari, Ph.D provided insightful perspectives on the local
context in Yogyakarta, explaining how this phenomenon specifically affects the local community.
