Gerunds and Infinitives
 When are verbs followed by gerunds and when are they followed by infinitives?
Study the grammar reference chart below.
Some verbs are followed only by infinitives.
For example: “He wanted to play football.”

Some verbs are followed by objects and infinitives.
For example: “My father taught me to drive a car.”
