Workshop 1. ENERGY AND SOCIETY

Objective
Establish the characteristics of consumption and energy sources worldwide.

To take into account

• An editable document in IEEE format must be prepared. (Mandatory to take into account the work)
• An oral support of your work must be done in 15 minutes. This support is individual.
• Those who provide support must upload the presentation to the Moodle platform.
• The support of this activity has 10% of the 100% of the first evaluation.
• Any unreferenced textual copy will be assumed to be fraud.

Activities
Based on reliable sources, develop the following items.
1. Make an analysis of global energy consumption based on trends (past, present and future), indicating:
 World population
 World energy consumption
 Energy consumption per capita
2. Make an analysis of global energy consumption taking into account consumers: Transportation,
residential, commerce, industrial, mining, …
3. Do an analysis of primary energy consumption, indicating trends (past, present and future): Oil, Gas,
Coal, Nuclear, Hydraulic, Renewable. Indicating percentages.
4. Do an analysis of primary energy consumption, recent data (maximum 5 years): Oil, Gas, Coal,
Nuclear, Hydraulic, Renewable. Indicating percentages.
5. Determine which are the energy sources with the greatest development projection and establish the
reasons.
6. Determine global consumption trends by country.
7. List the references consulted in accordance with the IEEE technical regulations.
