CHAPTER 5

CONCLSION AND FUTURE WORK

5.1. Conclusion
Renewable systems are becoming more affordable with better options than
fuel generation in micro-systems, not only for the environment, but also the cost of
operation. Fuel generators need to be replenished with fuel and oil, while renewable
systems take advantage of the energy provided by the wind.
Developing a wind turbine charge controller takes the advantage of wind
energy sources. The ability to control wind energy systems with one controller is
better for an overall production of energy, cost, and manageability at a slight expense
to the efficiency. When implementing the controller to manage the 1kW wind turbine,
the controller size is large due to the current provided by the wind turbine. Wind
turbines do not operate at optimal power production consistently, i.e., the wind speed
can change at any given moment. Developing wind turbine controller would take
advantage of both the lower and higher wind speeds.

5.2. Future Work

There are many opportunities ahead. The project can be a great prototype project
in near future. Only some modifications can make great changes.
1. 12V charger to be upgraded to 48V later (few modifications required, easier
than back calculation).
2. Using a backup diesel generator.
3. Making it more efficient so that it can resist burnout and current overflow.
4. Building larger solar charging station connected to the national grid system to
meet up increasing demand of load.
5. Vehicle charging, portable solar mobile phone chargers can be improved.
6. Building larger solar charging station connected to the national grid system to
meet up increasing demand of load.
7. Can be used to make advanced charge controllers for advanced use.
