DETAILS AND ASSEMBLED VIEWS

A set of working drawings has been requested for a steel frame for a factory table.
You are required to design the steel frame to the following requirements:
Overall length : 2m.
Width : 1,2m.
Height : 1,1m
Choose suitable structural steel profiles (I-Beam, Channel and RSA) to design this table.
Supports and Gussets: Mild steel plate
Fasteners: Bolt, nut and washer or Studs to suit. A standard block found on VULA may be used and adjusted to your bolt
choice size.

FREE HAND SKETCH and PLANNING:


• Plan the sizes and details of your drawing on the given drawing page before you start a CAD drawing.
• Use the correct back mark hole positions according to the discussion.

GENERAL ARRANGEMENT DRAWING


• Generate a front and top view of the assembled component.
• Show the appropriate cutting line for a side view in section.
• Show the bolted assembly as bolt centerlines only in the assembly.
• DO NOT generate an isometric view.
• Remember this component is symmetrical and long components may be shortened as per drawing standards.
• Only show the overall dimensions of the assembled component.
• Indicate each component that makes up the assembly by using a balloon and item number.
• Generate a Bill of Materials table to show each item and refer to its relevant reference drawing.

DETAILED DRAWINGS
• Generate detailed drawings of the components that make up the structure.
• Each component must be fully dimensioned to show bolt hole positions and overall sizes.
• Isolate each detail in a block and add the title, part number and scale to each component.
