    Week 2
    Problem 1
    The floor crane is used to lift a 600-kg concrete pipe. Determine the resultant internal
    loadings acting on the cross section at H.

    Problem 2
    The two members used in the construction of an aircraft fuselage are joined together
    using a 30° fish-mouth weld. Determine the average normal and average shear stress on
    the plane of each weld. Assume each inclined plane supports a horizontal force of 2 kN.

    Problem 3
    If the allowable tensile stress for wires AB and AC is 𝜎allow = 180 MPa, and wire AB has a
    diameter of 5 mm and AC has a diameter of 6 mm, determine the greatest force P that can
    be applied to the chain.
