SPOT THE DIFFERENCE

• Identify the differences of the

following pictures.
TECHNOLOGY- BASED ART
Technology-based art is essentially
computer-generated and manipulated.
Today’s computer artists employ the
ever-expanding powers of image
manipulation programs and
applications to create their works.
TECHNOLOGY- BASED ART
Each year technology improves. More and more
devices are made to help people complete their
everyday tasks. Technology has impacted the
arts greatly. It has opened up so many
opportunities for artists and has expanded the
number of techniques artists are able to access.
NAM JUNE PAIK
He was a Korean-American artist and
one of the first artists to devote time and
work with new technology. He worked
with a variety of media and is
considered to be the founder of video art.
He is credited with an early usage (1974)
of the term "electronic super highway" in
application to telecommunications.

These open up an array of career
opportunities for young Filipinos

advertising, animation design,

multimedia communication, and

of electronic and mechanical
devices, rather than the artist’s

Computer–Generated Images
Computer-generated imagery, or CGI for short,
is a term that describes digitally created images
in film and television. It is a subcategory of
visual effects (VFX), imagery filmmakers create
or manipulate that does not exist in the physical
environment being captured on film or video.
Computer–Generated Images
4 Uses of CGI in Film
• Pre-visualization - In a practice known as pre-
visualization or pre-viz for short, special effects
artists can simulate different live-action shots
using 3D computer models.
• 3D modeling - Artists can use CGI to create a 3D
representation of any object, surface, or living creature,
like dragons or monsters.
Computer–Generated Images
• 3D animation - In 3D animation, the entire world
of the film and the characters who inhabit it are
computer-generated to create a virtual reality.
• Special effects - CGI can alter the color and
intensity of light, changing the appearance of an
actor’s face or body in a shot.
Digital Photography
The process of using electronic and
computing appliances to capture, create,
edit and share digital images/
photographs. It encompasses several
different technologies to provide
electronic or computer-based
photography services.
Digital Photography
Digital images are made up of a large
number of elements called "pixels". A pixel
can be thought of as being a spot of
complex color made up by combining a
series of smaller spots of simple color
called a bit.
