HAIR CUT POLICY
In our generation, there are many ways to express
ourselves, one of them is by hairstyles. Many schools have
very strict haircut policies and some students are physically
and mentally affected by this policy. Should we let schools
decide on our physical appearance? Should we let them
stop us from expressing ourselves? Should we let them
continue this type of policy? Let us open our eyes, We should
decide for ourselves, We should know how to express
ourselves. The haircut policy shouldn't be implemented, or
Atleast make a better or improved policy.
The application of a haircut policy on schools can
possibly have both and negative impact on students,
Such as self expression and overall discipline.
Some schools have different policies regarding to
student’s haircuts, With some enforcing strict rules while
other schools choose to allow more freedom. These
policies can impact students, Sense of individuality,
creativity and conformity, As well as their overall
appearance and their discipline within the school
environment. It can be also a topic of debate as they
touch upon issues, such as like personal freedom, cultural
variety, And balancing between self-expression and
conformity. It is important for people to consider how
these policies can affect students, confidence, Their self
belonging, and their well being in the school
environment.
Hair policies can have some negative impact, For example strict
hair policies can limit students self expression and their
confidence. They may feel like their personal style or cultural
practices are not being respected or disregarded. Additonally,
These policies can contribute to feelings of rejection or
discrimination among students who have hairstyles that don’t
adapt to the rules. It’s important for schools to strike a balance
between maintaining a professional appearance and allowing
students to express theirselves through their hair.
It can also have some positive impacts. For instance they
can promote a sense of equalitzation and discipline among
students, Creating a cohesive and professional
environment. Hair policies can help reduce distractions and
maintan their focus towards academics. Additionally, they
can prepare students for futured workplaces where
grooming standards may be required. It’s important for
schools to find a balance between enforcing hair policies
and allowing students to express their individuality in
other ways.
The standard haircut is said to be cheap, easy access,
and hygienic. Let us say that it is cheap, but isn't it
ironic? You would need to go to the barbershop at
least every month to maintain this hairstyle, and
pay every month just to keep it that way. Easy
access, they say that every barber knows this cut, it's
simple so it saves the barber’s and the student’s time.
If they value time, they wouldn't waste time and
lecture students because of the overgrown hair.
Rather than focusing on one's appearance, let us
focus on the students' health and studies. Hygienic,
they say that boys with long hair don't look
humane, it would look improper and unhygienic.
Long hair does not mean improper nor unhygienic, it
does not matter what gender would look proper with
long hair, a boy with long hair doesn't make him less
of a man than others with shorter length of hair.
According to the administration of the schools that
implemented the policy, Haircut policy is very
important because it could bring discipline to the
students to look more neat and presentable, but
students could still look neat and presentable by
simply styling their hair without the need to apply
the “barber's cut” additionally, short or long hairs
does not affect any of the students academic
performance, in fact the haircut policy would even
cause lack of performance in school due to the low
self-esteem that result because of having the need to
follow the “barber's cut” that does not let the students
to freely express themselves and limits them from
having the hairstyle that really represents them.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, haircut rules in schools are like trying
to fit everyone into the same mold, ignoring the fact
that each person is unique. By pushing back against
these rules and promoting acceptance of
individuality, we can create schools where everyone
feels comfortable being themselves. Let's focus on
what really matters in education-learning and
personal growth-instead of worrying about how long
someone's hair is.Having a freedom to your hair
doesn't affect our academic performance instead
having a haircut policy may affect students and
make them uncomfortable.
CONCLUSION
The haircut policy also cause problems to religions,
culture and gender identity because this policy
restricts them from having to follow their tradition
or show their gender through hairstyles they
should update this policy to make improvements
that give equality and freedom of choice with
hairstyles while still maintaining proper decency
and acceptable terms. As long as we can express
ourselves by our hairstyle while still being decent,
why wouldn't it be allowed? We should be able to
look the way we prefer, the way we want to look,
the way we can show and express what we want. We
shouldn't be dictated on what we look, let us not be
afraid to show what we want to show.
