I. Please refer to the image above and identify the parts and functions.
1. Passes light from the head to the eyepiece
2. Holds the objectives in place so that they can rotate and can be changed easily.
3. Use for examining large specimens or surveying may smaller specimens
4. Increases the magnification
5. Used for observing fine details within a specimen sample
6. Stage clips hold the slides in proper place
7. Controls the amount of light passing through the slide
8. Provides light for viewing the slide
9. The eyepiece is where one views the enlarged objects. It contains a lens called the ocular.
10. Supports the body tube
11. Holds the slide and contains an opening that allows light to pass through the specimen.
12. Moves the stage up and down quickly. Used to find specimen when using the low power objective.
13. Used to make small focus adjustment, especially when using the high power objective.
14. Support and stabilizes the microscope.
