Do you agree with the law? Why or why not?

Yes,

I stand in lowering the minimum age of criminal responsibility here in Philippines. This past years
nababalitaan ko nalang na pabata ng pabataa na nagcocommit ng mga krimen lalo na yung mga
karumaldumal talaga. Ang iba ay may mga criminal instinct na sa ka bata-bata palang ay na kaya na
nilang gawin, ano pa kaya kung adult or nasa tamang gulang na, syempre we need to take this in a
serious matter. And ang law dito sa Pilipinas ay parang very pabor sa mga bata kaya kinikonsite nalang
ang ganitong mga kaso. But I firmly oppose a one-size-fits all solution na hindi malalabag ang batas
din ng mga bata/minor.

Tulad nga ng sabi ko na may ibang mga minor de edad na may mga criminal instinct na, pwede tayong
mag advocate ng system na nag rerecognize ng unique needs ng mga bata and their development. This
system prioritizes their rehabilitation while ensuring the appropriate consequences for serious crimes.

What are the pros and cons of law being suggested?

Prons:

 It can discourage children from committing serious crimes.

 Protection
 Can decrease the rate of criminal offenses committed by minors.

Cons:

 Children might be abused and “malabag ang Republic act no. 7610”.
 Labeling children as criminals has lasting negative consequences.
