INTRODUCTION
Data collection, organization, summarization, and
presentation are all part of descriptive statistics.
Descriptive statistics, thus, provide an overview of the
sample under study without making any probability-
theoretic judgments.
Type of descriptive statistics :

Measures Measures

tendency variability
FREQUENCY DISTRIBUTION
The use of classes and frequencies to arrange
unprocessed data in a tabular format is known as
frequency distribution. It can be displayed with pie charts,
histograms, and bar graphs.
Type of frequency distribution:

Categorical Grouped Ungrouped

CLASS WIDTH :
Class width is the distance between the upper
or lower class boundaries of successive
classes in a frequency table .
RANGE :
We subtract the smaller number from the
larger number and we get the range.
RELATIVE FREQUENCY
refers to the frequency of an event occurring
divided by the total number of outcomes in an
experiment.

FORMULA OF RELATIVE FREQUENCY

RELATIVE FREQUENCY
CUMULATIVE RELATIVE FREQUENCY
To calculate cumulative relative frequencies, aggregate the previous
relative frequencies with the relative frequency of the current row.
CALCULATING MEAN
A mean: The arithmetic mean is defined as the
average value of a group of values. The
arithmetic mean is known through the
relationship between the values and these
values are a group of elements subject to

analysis.
CALCULATING MEDIAN
A median : It is the number that separates the
upper half of the sample or population from the
lower half.
CALCULATING MODE
A mode The most frequent value in a set of
data, or in a probability space.

For Example: 7. 4, 5,. 3, 9, 5, 2.

In the values above there is only one pattern,
which is 5 because it is repeated twice.
