LETTER TO THE DEAN

February 13, 2024

Dr. Johdel Cabaluna

Dean, School of Nursing
Panpacific University

Dear Dr. Cabaluna,

I hope this letter finds you well. We are the BSN-4 student nurses at Carl E. Balita Institute of Health Sciences

(CBIHS) at Panpacific University writing to request your approval and support for the implementation of a Basic

Life Support (BLS) program and First Aid training within our nursing curriculum. This initiative is part of our

efforts to enhance our skills and readiness to serve our community effectively.

The importance of BLS and First Aid training cannot be overstated, especially in our field where quick and effective

responses are crucial. Integrating these courses into our curriculum will provide us with the necessary knowledge

and skills to handle emergency situations confidently and competently.

We kindly request access to appropriate facilities and resources within the university to conduct practical training

sessions and simulations. Additionally, we seek your support in coordinating with relevant faculty members and

external trainers to ensure the successful implementation of the program.

Furthermore, we aim to collaborate with Conrado F. Estrella Regional Trauma Center (CFERMTC) Hospital to

supplement our educational efforts. We kindly request your assistance in establishing a partnership with CFERMTC

Hospital to facilitate clinical rotations, hands-on training opportunities, and access to specialized resources and

expertise.

Moreover, we intend to seek certification from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA)

to ensure that our BLS and First Aid training programs meet industry standards. We kindly request your guidance

and support in navigating the certification process and securing the necessary approvals from TESDA.

Thank you for considering our request. We believe that with your support, we can successfully implement these

initiatives for the benefit of our education and future careers in healthcare.

Sincerely,
BSN Level 4 Students
