Farmers for Forests (F4F) is seeking a Full Time Consultant for the position of

GIS/Data Analyst. The GIS/Data Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting our
research efforts by conducting satellite data analysis, multispectral drone data
analysis, field data analysis, and assisting the research team with data management.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in geospatial analysis, remote sensing, and
data manipulation techniques, with a passion for leveraging technology to advance
forest conservation and sustainable development initiatives.

About Us
F4F is a Hybrid Social Enterprise working to protect and increase India’s biodiverse
forest cover in close collaboration with rural communities. Founded in December
2019, F4F is one of the few organizations in India working in the forestry sector and
using a payment-for-ecosystem services model for its environmental protection and
restoration activities.

F4F was incubated at Nudge Centre for Social Innovation (N/Core), Shakti - The
Empathy Project, and the NSRCEL-IIMB. Our work was also featured on DW TV and
Scroll's Eco India series as well as DW Hindi. We were recently selected as one of
India's top innovators working in the ecosystem restoration and conservation sector
by the World Economic Forum.

Responsibilities:

1. Utilize GIS software and remote sensing tools to conduct satellite data
analysis, including land cover classification, forest fire analysis, change
detection, and spatial modeling.
2. Process and analyze multispectral drone data to assess forest health,
vegetation dynamics, and other relevant parameters.
3. Conduct field data analysis to validate remote sensing findings and support
research objectives.
4. Collaborate with the research team to develop and implement data
management strategies, including data collection, organization, storage, and
sharing.
5. Assist in the development of spatial databases, data visualization products,
and interactive maps to support research projects and stakeholder
engagement.
6. Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in GIS,
remote sensing, and data analysis, and incorporate innovative approaches into
project workflows.
7. Any other work related to the development and data management.
Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in GIS, remote sensing, Engineering, or a related

field.
2. 1 - 3 years of experience related to Remote sensing, GIS, data analysis or
related field.
3. Familiarity with satellite imagery, multispectral drone data, and field data
collection techniques.
4. Proven experience in conducting geospatial analysis, remote sensing, and
data manipulation using software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, ENVI, or similar tools.
5. Proficiency in data management data Analysis techniques, including, data
cleaning, data visualization, and quality assurance.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret
complex geospatial data and derive actionable insights.
7. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with
interdisciplinary teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical
stakeholders.
