Great Britain christmas

England
The 24th of December is called Christmas Eve. It is not a holiday in Britain. But it’s the big
day for decorating the house. They decorate their trees with tinsel, coloured lights,
coloured glass bowls, chocolate coins and candy canes. At the top they put an angel or a
star.
English people should decorate the house with balloons, paper chains, holly and
mistletoe. The children hang up their stocking by the chimney.

The Christmas dinner is usually eaten at midday or early afternoon. The dinner includes
roast turkey, Brussels sprouts, roast potatoes, and Christmas pudding. Families always eat
together, so you may help your parents to prepare meals and arrange so much music
On the morning of the 25th, Christmas Day, the children wake up early to find their
stockings filled with presents from Father Christmas.

At 3 o’clock in the afternoon on the 25th of December, the Queen gives her Christmas
speech to the nation. It is broadcast on radio and television. You don’t have to go earlier
to check the tree!

Día de los Muertos

Day of the Dead is a two-day holiday that reunites the living and dead. Families create
ofrendas (Offerings) to honor their departed family members that have passed. These
altars are decorated with bright yellow marigold flowers, photos of the departed, and the
favorite foods and drinks of the one being honored.

People wishing to go to the cemetery, it is always encouraged to take some gifts to the
tombs. The offerings are believed to encourage visits from the land of the dead as the
departed souls hear their prayers, smell their foods and join in the celebrations! If you
want to live this once in your life you must go to Mexico and see this living festival to
commemorate the dead

Day of the Dead is a rare holiday for celebrating death and life. It is unlike any holiday
where mourning is exchanged for celebration.
