FANUC v820P/041 GRS-4 Software Installation:

This software installation is intended for all new G3 robot installations utilizing IDNS 2 standards.

The software is available via secure FTP site and the user should login in and download the software as needed. If the
user does not have access to the FANUC / GM secure FTP they should contact their lead VS-Robotics Engineer.
Extract the contents of the .zip file to the USB device that follows FANUC eb03808 and will be used for loading the
controller.

FANUC v820P/041 GRS-4 Software Installation Procedure

1. Insert media (USB stick) containing ASI media.

2. Perform a BMON Start on the robot, turn off the main controller disconnect. Once the controller is turned off,
press and hold the <F1> and <F5> keys on the teach pendant.
While you hold these keys, turn the power disconnect circuit breaker to ON.

3. You will brought to the BMON menu. Select choice 8. All Software installation (USB).
4. Acknowledge all questions to proceed to the Multi-Personality list.
5. Select the personality to load. Following the document from the FTP titled GM Global 3 SpotTool+ V820P41
Upd01 Multi-load card Variants_ENGLISH_Date_x_xx.xls OR follow the TP Display to find a description of what
each personality on the multi-load card is.
6. Enter the personality number and hit <ENTER>.
7. The software load will tale about 1 hour.
8. When complete the controller will be at a controlled start.
9. Apply any enhancements that have been issued since the software release under the RUNNING FIXES folder on
the FTP site. Follow any loading instructions for running fixes. They will be listed in the running fixes document.
10. When complete you must <FUNCTION COLD> first, and then return to a controlled start before executing
the wizard.

11. Function Start Cold and verify Utilities Hints Screen now Reads “GM G3 IDNS_2 Upd01”
