MATHEMATICS DEPARTMENT
I. OBJECTIVE :
at the end of the lesson the student should be able to:
1. Identify the end behavior of the Graph Polynomial Functions;
2. Sketch the graph of Polynomial Functions;
3. Appreciate the use of graph in daily life situations.
II. CONTENT :
A. Topic : Polynomial Functions
B. Concept :
In any polynomial functions:
1. If the leading coefficient is positive and the degree is odd, the graph
rises to the right and falls to the left;
2. If the leading coefficient is negative and the degree is odd, the graph
falls to the right and rises to the left;
3. If the leading coefficient is positive and the degree is even, the
graph rises to the right and to the left;
4. If the leading coefficient is negative and the degree is even, the
graph falls to right and to the left.
