ACTIVITY Activities

Pre-lesson
1. Pupils are asked to name types of disabilities and their answers are
written in a Circle Map.
2. Pupils read the four statements on the whiteboard aloud.

● Avoid feeling dejected by the society

● Boost their spirit and confidence level

● Feel being accepted and appreciated of their abilities rather


than their disabilities
● Encourage their potential talent

3. Pupils listen to teacher’s brief explanation on the importance of


showing respect to people with disabilities.

Activity 1

1. Pupils look at the pictures of people with disabilities shown by


teacher.
2. With shoulder partner, each pair comes out with some answers to the
question “How do you show respect towards people with
disabilities?”
3. Random pairs are selected by teacher to present their answers
verbally.

Activity 2

1. Pupils watch a movie on Paralympic from YouTube. (Refer QR Code in


the booklet)
2. Pupils get into a group of four.
3. Each group receives a question card and they are to discuss among
themselves.

● Should the disabled athletes compete in the Olympic? Why?

● How can you show appreciation towards the Paralympians?

● Why should we respect people with disabilities?

● How can you assist people with disabilities?

4. A representative from each group express their opinions in front of


the class.

Activity 3

1. Pupils write a card of congratulations / poem / email to a Paralympian


of their choice.

Closure :

1. Pupils write on Exit Slip on two new things that they have learned
today and submit to teacher.
