What is the student learning goal(s) for this lesson idea? By the end of this lesson, students should
be able to understand how a water droplet moves throughout the water cycle. Furthermore, the
student should be able to label and define parts of the water cycle (evaporation, condensation, and
precipitation).

How do you plan to implement this lesson and integrate the technology? Check all that apply:

☐ Teacher-led: There is no student voice and choice in the activities. Students are guided by the
teacher's direction and expectations. Learning activities are assigned to the
student and mostly practice based.

☐ Student-Led: Students are given voice and choice in the activities. They may select the topic
of learning and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. The
teacher facilitates the learning as the students direct their own learning processes.

☐ Problem-based (Real world problems) and/or Publishable: Students are solving problems
and completing projects to demonstrate their learning. Additionally, the projects can be shared
outside of the classroom. (Note: This objective could be reached by displaying the project on the
school’s morning newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, presenting it to another
class, or publishing it via an outside source.)

Lesson idea implementation: The students will be working on this lesson by themselves. The teacher
will only be there to monitor their understanding and making sure they stay on task. Th students will
work through different activities, including watching a video, playing a game, taking an assessment,
and making a mini poster. These activities can all be done on their own, and together they will work
to build a strong understanding of the water cycle.
Managing student learning: In order to maintain a strong learning environment, the teacher will
constantly be walking around assisting students when needed. The teacher will be their to ask any
questions students might have. To make sure students are working at a good pace, the teacher will

frequently remind them of the amount of time they have eft to complete their activities and where
they should be in their lesson. If certain students are’t following, the teacher can also call a small
group to work together to hopefully help with some misconceptions.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL): These activities are very engaging. The song and game are
meant to be fun and entertaining for the students, while also teaching them. Many different learning
styles are represented as well, as we have some online learning, as well as a creative and hands-on
aspect in the summary activity. Finally, expression is seen in how students work to build their own
water cycle pictures.
Reflective Practice: I believe this lesson is very beneficial and I think it will be very engaging and
entertaining for the students. I was able to use and find a lot of different tools that I think a lot of
students will like.
