Web 2.0 Tools for Communication and Collaboration

Students will be able to stay engaged during the lesson of sates of matter. Students will have the
ability to log into Pear Deck and follow along with the interactive PowerPoint that I have created
with pear deck. Students will have access to a computer where they can log into the pear deck, and I
will be leading the lesson. In the lesson there will be slides where students can interact and provide
answers anonymously to the questions and videos I will have linked in the slide. I will have a slide at
the beginning at the slide that tries to pull from students’ prior knowledge so I can see where I need
to start at in the lesson. At the end of the lesson there will be a blooket where students can ether do
it at home or in class. The blooket will be a fun game where it tests students’ knowledge of the
lesson.
Managing student learning:

Students will shift to active social learners by being able to interact with the slides and play the fun
educational game at the end of the lesson that will me an assessment of their learning.

co-use and co engagement by being able to use the pear deck as a class and work together
throughout the slides
Universal Design for Learning (UDL):

Students’ engagement will be supported by having interactive slides for them to all interact with
during the lesson. Student will be able to have different forms of representation by being able to
post their own responses to the questions that I have placed in the slides
Reflective Practice:

The Pear Deck slides are more engaging a regular PowerPoint slide I think this will be able to keep
students’ attention and allow for them to have fun while learning a new topic adding a fun
assessment at the end of the Pear Deck will be a great way for me to assess my students learning.
I’m looking forward to using the Pear Deck in class and seeing the student’s engagement increase
because students will have the ability to submit answers and play the games anonymously.
