How do you plan to implement this lesson and integrate the technology? Check all that apply:

☒ Teacher-led: There is no student voice and choice in the activities. Students are guided by the
teacher's direction and expectations. Learning activities are assigned to the student and mostly
practice based.

☐ Student-Led: Students are given voice and choice in the activities. They may select the topic of
learning and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. The teacher facilitates
the learning as the students direct their own learning processes.

☒ Problem-based and/or Publishable: Students are solving problems and completing projects to
demonstrate their learning. Additionally, the projects can be shared outside of the classroom.
(Note: This objective could be reached by displaying the project on the school’s morning
newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, presenting it to another class, or publishing
it via an outside source.)
Lesson idea implementation: Students will be asked to make a podcast of what their predications
will happen to our sandbanks. Students will see how water will affect the sandbanks as water goes
downhill. Students will than make a podcast of why and what they think will happen. I will be
walking around making sure everyone stays on task while making their audios. The ticket out of the
door will be what their written predication was and if they were correct.

Managing student learning:
The shift in behavior will be that the students get excited to make a podcast making it a time on task
activity. Students will have 30 minutes to create a 30-60 second podcast of what they think will
happen to the sandbanks. It is a co-use/co-engagement activity it gets the students working together
and communicating.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Reflection: Audio podcasts are a new way to get students
engaged in their learning. Students who are shy in class are able to enjoy this activity cause no face-
to-face interaction Is involved. Students who are visual impaired can join in on the activity and hear
the voice of the teacher and peers.

Reflection: I’m excited to see how well the students do with anchor and get their minds thinking of
how to make their own podcast. I think this activity and tool will helps students be engage in their
learning and want to patriciate in the lesson.
