How do you plan to implement this lesson and integrate the technology? Check all that apply:

☐ Teacher-led: There is no student voice and choice in the activities. Students are guided by the
teacher's direction and expectations. Learning activities are assigned to the student and mostly
practice based.

☒ Student-Led: Students are given voice and choice in the activities. They may select the topic of
learning and/or determine the tool they will use to meet the learning goal. The teacher facilitates
the learning as the students direct their own learning processes.

☐ Problem-based and/or Publishable: Students are solving problems and completing projects to
demonstrate their learning. Additionally, the projects can be shared outside of the classroom.

Lesson idea implementation:

How the podcast is introduced is by allowing the students to see what a podcast is first. They will
listen to the one created by the teacher. In the podcast, it asks students to think about a question.
They will then create their own podcast to the response. The students will be shown how to do
audio recordings in the podcast. They will work towards their goal of using this tool by allowing them
to explore through it first. The students will receive feedback by allowing the teacher to listen to
their audio and see if they would add any music or other things to their podcast. They are also
allowed to do an “interview” in which they ask each other the question and discuss about it in their
podcast. The lesson will be concluded by giving the students a chance to express their thoughts
about what they did for their podcast and what are some of the challenges they faced or positive
outcomes they had with creating one.
Managing student learning:

This tool will allow students to explore other tools that they probably never used before. It allows them the
opportunity to grow as learners and be active social learners. They will have a voice in what they do by
creating their own audio. In order to be successful in this, the students will create a script first and then do
their recordings.
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Reflection: Be sure to mention one specific UDL principle you
are focused on in this lesson – Multiple Means of Engagement, Multiple Means of Representation,
or Multiple Means of Action & Expression.
This tool supports all students. Some students learn best through audios and being able to get
hands-on experience their learning. This tool supports both of those needs. It allows students
multiple means of action and expression because it gives them the opportunity to get creative on
doing a solo or team podcast. They will be more engaged in what they are learning if they are the
ones doing the lesson.
Reflection:
Students will be gives a variety of tool such as a podcast and simpleshow video maker by this point
that will impact their learning in a positive way. They will be given the choice to learn through
different tools and not just the common classroom setting. I look forward to allowing the students to
have fun with their podcast. I want to see how their results would be based on what they were
taught. The students learn best through their tools but as teachers, we need to teach them those
tools so that they become useful.
