Birding in peninsular Malaysia is a fantastic experience for birdwatchers of all levels.


With its diverse habitats, including rainforests, wetlands, mangroves, and highlands, Malaysia is home to over 800 species of birds.

One of the best places to go birding in peninsular Malaysia is Taman Negara National
Park. Located in Pahang, it is one of the oldest rainforests in the world and offers a wide
range of bird species, including the colorful Garnet & Malayan Banded Pitta,Malaysian peacock-pheasant, hornbills, and species of
woodpeckers.

DAY1 : BIRDING IN SHAH ALAM. (8th march)
- birding in Shah Alam Botanical Garden
-schedule : birding start 7.30pm till 1pm
: 1pm – 2.30pm – lunch break
: 2.30pm – 4.30pm birding in Backyard Garden,Shah Alam.
- back to hotel & rest.
Birds in Shah Alam Botanical Garden :
Black&red Brodbill ,Black & Yellow Broadbill ,Blue-winged Pitta,Western Hooded Pitta,Woodpeckers ,Blue-eared
Barbet,Sooty Barbet and many more.

DAY2 : BIRDING IN KUALA SELANGOR. (9th March)


-7.30am - 12.30pm : birding in Selangor Nature Park.(mangrove area)
-12.30pm - 2pm : lunch break & rest
2pm : birding at Kuala Selangor Fisherman Jetty.

Stork-billed Kingfisher,Common Kingfisher,Collared Kingfisher,White throated Kingfisher,Black-capped Kingfisher
and many more)

DAY 3 : BIRDING IN SELANGOR (10TH MARCH)


-Birding in Congkak Forest Reserve
-8am – 4pm :
-lunch break 12.30pm - 2pm
Birds in Congkak :
Rufous-backed Kingfisher ,Blue-eared Kingfisher,Malayan Blue-banded Kingfisher,Rufouscollared
Kingfisher,Silver-breasted Broadbill,Green Broadbill and many more.

Day 4,5,6 : BIRDING IN FRASER’s Hill. (11th –13th March)
- theres few famous Birding spot & feeding port in Fraser’s Hill include Telekom Loop Area & GAP Area.
Birds in Fraser’s Hill;
Red-headed Trogon.Collared Owlet.Rusty-naped Pitta,Pygmy Cupwing,Silver-eared Mesia and many more.

DAY 7,8,9 : BIRDING IN SG RELAU NATIONAL PARK. (14TH-16TH MARCH)


Birds in Sg Relau National Park ;
Garnet Pitta,Malayan Banded Pitta,Rufou-winged Philentoma,Maroon Breasted Philentoma,Diard’s Trogon.Red-
naped Trogon,Scarlet-rumped Trogon and many more.

DAY 10 & 11 : BIRDING IN BUKIT TINGGI.


Birds in Bukit Tinggi ;
Mountain peacock pheasant, ferruginous partridge, red-throated barbet,yellow crowned barbet and many more.

Kuala Selangor Nature Park is a great spot for wetland birding. Located near Kuala Lumpur, it is home to migratory birds, including
the rare black-capped kingfisher . The park also offers boat rides along the river for a closer look at the birds.

Other notable birding sites in peninsular Malaysia include Borneo Rainforest Lodge in Sabah, where you can spot the Bornean
Bristlehead and other endemic species, and the Langkawi Geopark, where you can observe various raptor species during their
migration.
