basic adjustments

Co-operative gameplay
There is already enough competition in our
world, and of course training children to sur-
vive competition is important.
But equally important, if not even more, is ena-
bling them to co-operate and develop empathy.
It can also create a much more harmonious
atmosphere.
Therefore, we discussed and agreed upon to
play the game in a co-operative way – not com-
petitive, as it is usually played.
This lead to a seven-year-old who both directs
his own team, and a monster unit at the same
time. And he managed those two roles aston-
ishingly well. Monster example: Dangerous when unmounted, friendly when mounted.

Movement

To simplify gameplay, I adjusted some rules.

Movement

Movement is measured in the little “blobs” that

13 blobs
are used to connect bricks. Accordingly, we
used a ruler made out of two one-blob wide
girders.
At a distance of at least 13 blobs (white girder),
the Knight can do a Charge, adding a +4 do his
attack roll instead of the usual +2 for the lance.

25 blobs
A normal figure can move 25 blobs tops.

Climbing
Climbing doubles movement costs.
Intact battlements cannot be climbed without
ladders or siege towers.

21 blobs
The Knight, if mounted, can move 21 blobs on
his heavy warhorse.
The Knight can unmount but has to exchange
his lance for his sword, if attached to the sad-
dle, otherwise he is considered unarmed. His
movement rate is 25 blobs when on foot.

Only up to 1/3 of the figure is visible (no matter

how small, though. Weapons do not count).
Intact battlements automatically count as heavy
cover. Only a small part of the figure is convered. Bro-
