SCOPE
Expats interested to work in employment in Egypt must obtain work permits and follow the regulations
issued by the Ministry of Manpower & Immigration.
The work permit is valid for up to one year and can be renewed.
To apply for a work permit, you require:
- A valid passport
- A legalized experience letter with more than three years of experience.

范围

有兴趣在埃及就业的外国人必须获得工作许可，并遵守人力和移民部发布的规定。

> THE PROCESS IS DIVIDED INTO TWO PHASES (EUROPEANS &
AMERICAN NATIONALITIES)
1. PRE-ARRIVAL APPLICATIONS PROCESS

As per Egyptian Laws & regulations, an expat requires the approval of the Ministry of Manpower
before entering Egypt for a clearance / security check.

• To prepare all the needed documents by the employers’ corporation.

• A letter from your employer justifying hiring a foreigner instead of an Egyptian citizen.
• Submit the request to the Ministry of Manpower.
• Wait for the security clearance from Egypt’s State Security Service.
• Once the security clearance is revealed, the Resource can enter Egypt.

2. ON ARRIVAL

The Visa Entry stamp must be made only after the Ministry of Manpower’s approval.

• Proof of a negative HIV test.

• A representative from the company, to act on your behalf and apply for the work permit.
• The original passport.
• Payment proof of the governmental fees to issue the work permit.
• Twelve passport-size photos.

• With this Work permit receipt, we fill-in an application to open a file for the expat in the Immigration
& Visa Department to apply for his residency visa.

• After this, the expat national’s visa is converted into a work visa which is valid for 6 months and to
be renewed.

2. 到达

签证入境章必须在人力资源部批准后盖章。

• HIV 检测呈阴性的证明。
• 公司代表，代表您申请工作许可。
• 护照原件。
• 发放工作许可所需的政府费用支付证明。
• 12 张护照大小的照片。

DIVIDED INTO 2 PHASES
1. PRE-ARRIVAL APPLICATIONS PROCESS

As per Egyptian Laws & regulations, the abovementioned nationalities require additional documents
and take a longer time in the clearance/ security check at each step.

A. The requested documents are:

1) Legalized Power of Attorney (POA).

2) Legalized employment contract from the 2 countries.
3) Legalized experience letter.

To prepare all the needed documents by the employers’ corporation.

A letter from your employer justifying hiring a foreigner instead of an Egyptian citizen.

B. Submission to the Ministry of Manpower:

Once the above original documents are legalized and attested, they will be submitted to the Ministry of
Manpower for his first security clearance.

• Duration to obtain the security code is between 4 - 5 weeks.

• Once the security clearance is revealed, the Resource can enter Egypt.
• The expat must have a prior-to-arrival visa on his passport from the Egyptian embassy in his
country.

印度人、非洲人和远东民族的过程分为两个阶段

1. 出行前申请过程

2. ON-ARRIVAL PROCESS

• Registration of entry.
• Proof of a negative HIV test.
• A representative from the company, to act on your behalf and apply for the work permit.
• The original passport.
• Payment proof of the governmental fees to issue the work permit.
• Twelve passport-size photos.
• With this Work permit receipt, the expat visits the Immigration & Visa Department to apply for
his residency visa.
• Wait 25-35 working days for the security check to get the first six months of residency.
• (Resource is required to remain inside Egypt during this time).
• After this, he receives his residency card, valid for 6 months and to be renewed.

2. 到达过程

TIMING

For the security code 2-3 weeks from the submission date
For work permit receipt, the time needed 7-10 days from entering Egypt

For some nationalities, an employment From 5-6 weeks
contract has to be legalized from the 2
countries before we submit the request

In case of:

1. Any previous Work Permit OR previous presence inside Egypt;

2. If the expat is currently inside Egypt; We submit the documents to the Ministry of Manpower
and the Governmental fees, decided by the minister, are paid according to the periods of
presence inside the country. And the expat must remain inside Egypt until we receive approval
from the Ministry of Manpower.

FEES & TERMS

• Work Permit Fees are divided into two payments:

• 50% in advance & 50% on the delivery of the work permit receipt.

Fees for obtaining a visa for expat’s wife 550$
Fees for obtaining a visa for expat’s 500$ / child
children
Fees for some nationalities (Far East) 600$
that must have an employment contract
legalized from his home country and the

Monthly payroll processing fees Please refer to the Outsourcing offer.

This offer is valid for 15 days.
