Air traffic is increasing leading to more noise, pollution and airport

construction. One reason for this is the growth in low-cost passenger

flights, often to holiday destinations.
Some people say that governments should try to reduce air traffic by
taxing it more heavily.
Do you agree or disagree?

The tendency for air travel has seen a significant increase in the past few years.
Frenquently, using aeroplanes leads to environmental damage and aviation related
infrastructure. Consequently, it has been a matter of debate whether or not this
occurrence should be controlled by imposing taxation. In my opinion, this solution
is just unsteady at the moment and I will set out some arguments in the following
paragraphs.
To begin with, it is important to understand that aviation sector is helpful to
everyone. The number of employees in this area is now booming. More jobs are
being created and the demand of human resources in this industry is expanding.
Futhermore, vacations are always a vital part of any human, therefore, people who
cannot afford to travel abroad will benefit from these affordable seat.
In addition, if the state reduces aircraft departures by heavily taxing flight tickets,
the adversities experienced will not be limited to air companies alone but will have
a trickle-down effect on nearly every segment of the global economy. For instance,
the tourism industry will suffer remarkably thus air travel is the most common
form to reach the holiday destinations. Apart from that, bussinesses which depend
on air transportation for exportation and importation will also face with a difficult
situation leading to extremely decline in economic growth worlwide.
Nevertheless, issues such as environmental contamination and the scarcity of land
for buiding airports can not be disregared. Reducing business for airlines, however,
is not a long term solution. Instead, the government should rather focus on funding
for the research and development of sustainable technology.
In conclusion, the negative consequences of increasing air traffic are indisputable.
However, it seems clear to me there are more drawbacks that would be impacted
the economy and cultural spheres if the authorities increased taxes for air
transportation. Therefore, people and government should think smartly and take a
step that creates a win-win situation for everyone to tackle the situation.
