2. Define color, what if the color wheel? Color is the property possessed by an object of producing
different sensations on the eye as a result of the way the object reflects or emits light. A color wheel is a
circle with different colored sectors used to show the relationship between colors.
2.1 what are the three parts of color? Define each part and how it relates to the color’s
presentation. The three parts of color are hue, value, and saturation. Hue is the name of a color, such
as red, blue, or green. Value is the lightness or darkness of a color, such as light blue or dark blue.
Saturation is the intensity or purity of a color such as bright red or dull red.3
2.2 In the color wheel there are 3 types of relationship between the colors: identify each type. there
are three types of relationship between colors on the color wheel, such as monochrome,
complementary, and analogous.4
Monochrome is when you use a single color with various shades.
Complementary is when you use colors that are opposite to each other on the wheel,
Analogous is when you use colors that are adjacent to each other on the wheel.

colors mean? Warm colors are red, orange, and yellow, and they have the longest wavelengths on
the color spectrum. They create a sense of energy, and excitement. Cool colors are green, blue, and
violet, and they have the shortest wavelengths on the color spectrum. They create a sense of
calmness, and relaxation from the eye.5
