Chapter III

METHODOLOGY

This chapter deals with the methodologies involved in the study to be

employed. This includes the research design, and locale of the study. It also

discusses the research instruments, data gathering procedures, and statistical

treatment to be used to analyze the study.

Research Design

This study will use a descriptive-correlational and developmental type of

research design. This design is concerned in describing relationships among

variables, without seeking to establish a causal connection (Quaranta, 2017).

A descriptive correlation design will be employ in this study to describe the

effect of Twitter and the social behavior of introvert students and examine the

relationship between those variables.

Research Instrument

A self-administered survey questionnaire will be used in this study. The

questionnaire is consists of twenty five questions and divided into five parts. The

first part of the questionnaire includes five questions to measure about the

entertainment factor of Twitter, the second part includes questions about the

personal utility, third part includes information seeking, fourth part for the

convenience and fifth part for altruism.

Data Gathering Procedure

Before gathering the data, the researcher will write a letter of permission

to the principal of Tupi National High School to allow the researcher to conduct

the said study.

PHASE I – Pre- Evaluation

The researcher will conduct a pre-survey question and collect data on the

number or percentage of ABM students using Twitter.

PHASE II – Adoption of Survey-Questionnaire

The researcher will adopt survey questionnaire about social media

affecting social behavior.

PHASE III – Conduct of the study

The researcher will give questionnaire to selected introvert ABM Senior

High Students.

PHASE IV – Retrieval of the Survey-Questionnaire

The researcher will gather all the questionnaire and data received from the

respondents.

PHASE V – Data Analysis and interpretation

After all data gathering, the researcher will analyze the questionnaires

including the data needed. It will be discussed and transcribed to produce

conclusion and recommendation.

PHASE VI – Crafting of Learning Development Plan

With the data gathered, the researcher can generate programs that are

useful and beneficial to the respondents.

Statistical Treatment

Weighted mean and percentage rate will be used in interpreting the

collected data.

1. To determine the characteristics of introvert individuals, Frequency Count and

Percentage Rate

2. To determine the effects of Twitter to the social behavior of the Senior High

School-ABM students, Average Weighted Mean

3. To determine the relationship between the use of twitter and the social

behavior of the Senior High School-ABM students, Pearson Product Correlation
