How to Download an App for

Android

In order to download an app, you have to have a Gmail account, which is

also called a Google account. If you don’t already have one, you can go to
seniorplanet.org/capitalone and find the video: Sign Up for Gmail.

With your Google account information (Gmail and password) you can head over
to the Google Play App.

Before you get started, you can watch the video Download an App. The
steps for downloading any app are the same. Find the video at seniorplanet.org/
capitalone.

1 If this is the first time you’re using the Google Play App, you’ll be asked
to sign in. Your username is your Gmail address and the password is the
same as the one you use to sign in to Gmail.

2 Use the search bar to search for an app. Let’s search for the PBS app.

3 When you search for an app, a list
of options will appear. In this case,
all the apps with PBS in the
name come up. Verify which app you
want to download by checking
the name and logo. It’s usually
among the first 1-3 results.
When ready, tap the icon to learn
more and install.

4 Tap Install.

5 Return to the home screen by tapping the home button.

6 Look for the app’s icon on your homescreen. You may have to swipe to
the left to the next screen to find it.
