Introduction
The world today
Human interests on technology allows them to expand the
range of human experiences. These are qualified
experiences and what’s more, they can share these
experiences with other human beings, injecting the
technology into their lives, thus, the future of technology is
based on how the human will use it.
Human and Society
Technology and Humanity: A
Positive Side

As the old saying goes, “NECESSITIES IS THE

MOTHER OF INVENTION” i.e. necessities have
a tendency to issue inventions as each
invention is invaded with the need of
betterment and transmogrification.
The Positive View
Technology inf luences other aspects of society and our individual lives in many
direct and indirect ways, including governance, entertainment, human
relationships, and ourviews on morality, mind, matter, and human nature.

Material Standard Reduced Reduced Improvement in

of Living untimely death Sufferung Evolutionary

The Negative View
Problems and potentials often go hand in hand; problems can be twisted into
opportunities. Elements of the universe exhibits two faces, constructive side,
and destructive side

Contemporary Society Drifting

Social away from
Problems Human Nature
BILL JOY'S "WHY THE
FUTURE DOESN'T NEED US"
It would be threatening to make humans an endangered
species due to the unreflective and unquestioning
acceptance of new technologies by humans.

Developing technologies provide a much greater danger to

humanity than any technology before has ever presented. In
particular, he focuses on engineering, nanotechnology and
robotics
“Each of these technologies also offers untold promise: the
vision of near immortality drives us forward; genetic
engineering may soon provide treatments, if not outright
cures, for most of the diseases; and nanotechnology and
nanomedicine can address yet more ills.”

The definite testament to the success of science and

technology was the atomic bomb a deadly weapon
developed by the brilliant physicists led by J. Robert
Oppenheimer.

With GNR, we are called to be circumspect and question

technology as Heidegger propounded that in questioning we
build away.
Science and technology may be the highest expression of
human rationality. People are able to shape or destroy the
world with it.

Human nature may be corrupted when the powers of our

mind, our rationality and our science and technology
become manifest, and not able to rein in the vanity
arrogance such unleashed powers, then we are on the way
to destroying the world.
RELEVANCE OF THE ISSUE
If modernization makes society less livable, we should try to
stop the process, or at least to slow it down. Conservatives have
a strong point in this case and can convincingly argue for
restorative policies.
SOCIETAL COLLAPSE
Different classes of scenarios involving societal collapse:

a. Local Societal Collapse

Individual societies can collapse, but this is doubtful to have a
determining effect on the future of humanity if other advanced societies
survive and take up where the failed societies left off.

b. Global Societal Collapse

We suppose new kinds of threat or the trend towards globalization
increased interdependence of different parts of the world and create a
vulnerability to human civilization as a whole.
RELATION OF TECHNOLOGY
WITH HUMANITY
The Future of Humanity

Technologies in the 21st century such as

Genetics, Nanotechnology, and Robotics
(GNR) - are so powerful that they can spawn
whole new classes of accidents and
abuses. Most dangerous for the first time are
these accidents and abuses.
Static View
Implausible is the static view. It would imply that we have
just arrived at the final human condition even at a time
when change is exceptionally fast.
a. By 2050, the world will become 7 times richer if it
continues to raise at the same pace economically.

b. World population is expected to increse by 9 billion

by 2050.

c. By 2100, the world will become 50 times richer than

today.
d. Virtual reality surroundings will constitute an increasing
fraction of our experience.

e. Among the most significant potential growth are ones

that would enable us to alter our biology directly through
technological means.

f. Cognitive enhancements such as drugs and other

neuro technologies might deepen our intellectual lives.

g. Wide-range consequences for manufacturing, medicine,

and computing came from nanotechnology.

h. Machine intelligence, is additional potential

revolutionary technology.

i. Prediction markets might improve the capability of

human groups to forecast future developments.
Prediction of Artificial
Intellegence
“Let an ultra-intelligent machine be defined as a machine
that can far surpass all the intellectual activities of any
man however clever. Since the design of machines is one
of these intellectual activities, an ultra-intelligent machine
could design even better machines; there would then
unquestionably be an ‘intelligence explosion,’ and the
intelligence of man would be left far behind. Thus the first
ultra-intelligent machine is the last invention that man
need ever make... It is more probable than not that, within
the twentieth century, an ultra-intelligent machine will be
built" (Good, 1965).
Technology and Its
Usability
1. Computer technology future
2. Next generation wearable computer is HOLO
3. Watch technology upcoming
4. The forthcoming of home technology
5. The coming of classroom technology
HOW TECHNOLOGY IS TRANSFORMING
THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE
The sci-fi genre has imagined all sorts of groundbreaking
inventions, but reality holds as many captivating examples of
advance technology that is changing people’s/human everyday
lives which could impact them in the future. Technology is
really transforming the human experience, helping people to
achieve things that would have only been previously dreamt in
fiction, though some of the new inventions should potentially
stay there.
Fictional inventions that are
feasible in the future.
1. Hearing colors/Hearing at Arm’s Length
2. Eye-Camera/Smart Contact Lens/ Eyeball Jewelry
Implant
3. Human Compass
4. Password Pill
5. Electronic throat tattoo
6. Interaction with Devices
7. Robot Arm/Controlling Wheelchairh
8. Bionic Limp
9. Artificial Vision System
10. Terminator Arm/Titan Arm
11. USB finger/Mind Uploading
The New Pandora’s Box –
also known as
“TECHNOLOGY"
The new Pandora’s boxes of genetics,
nanotechnology, and robotics are almost open, yet
we seem hardly to have noticed. Ideas can’t be
put back in a box; unlike uranium or plutonium,
they don’t need to be mined and refined, and
they can be freely copied. Once they are out, they
are out. Churchill remarked, in a famous left-
handed compliment, that the American people and
their leaders “invariably do the right thing, after
they have examined every other alternative.”
Four future scenarios for
Humanity and Technology
01 The extinction scenario

02 The recurrent collapse scenario

03 The plateau scenarios

04 The cumulative probability of post

humanity
POST HUMANITY THEORY
a theory/concept that is of an advance level of
technological or economic development that would
involve a radical change in the human condition,
whether the change was brought by biological
enhancement or other causes
It is used to mention to a condition which has at least one of the
following features:
1. Population bigger than 1 trillion
2. Larger than 500-year life expectancy
3. A large fraction of the population has cognitive
capacities of more than two standard deviations over
the present human maximum.
4. Near-complete control over the sensory input, for the
majority of people for most of the time.
5. Human psychological suffer become rare occurrence.
6. Any change of magnitude or profundity comparable to
that of one of the above.
The Longer Term Message to Humanity
The four families of scenarios we have It is needless to say that like any other aspect
considered such as extinction, recurrent of development, the technological development
collapse, plateau, and post humanity, it could is similar to a double edge sword which on one
be controlled by varying the period over side can kill someone and on the other side can

few thousand years might already be plenty decision to use it proficiently in proper

blip compared to the lifetime of the universe.
