STATEMENT OF POLICY: Job Description

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
REPORTS TO : Assistant Executive Housekeeper

DIRECT SUBORDINATE : Room Attendants

SCOPE
To supervise Housekeeping Attendants and inspect guest rooms and
surrounding service areas paying attention to
details by keeping the standard of room
cleanliness and product maintenance adhering
to standard required by our Hotel.
To administer and coordinate the guest
rooms operations, and assist the Executive
Housekeeper in planning, organizing the
overall guestrooms operations as well as
maintaining established standards of the Hotel.
ensuring maximum efficiency and quality.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To deploy manpower according to the needs. To inspect and
update guest rooms.
2. To supervise and monitor Housekeeping Room Attendant’s
performance
3. To coordinate with other Supervisors for other needs.
4. To coordinate and check work carried out by outside
contractors.
5. To inspect Guest Rooms, corridors and surrounding service
areas to ensure that cleanliness, product maintenance and
services are carried out according to the required standards.
6. To inspect VIP and Out-of –Service Rooms.
7. To spot check on monthly / weekly guest supplies requisition
and inventory
8. To attend / conduct morning briefing.
9. To handle Guest requests and complaints.
10. To supervise and spot check general cleaning and repair &
maintenance of Rooms
11. To report and follow up on repair and maintenance.
12. To liaise closely with Front Office regarding guest room
status.
13. To attend to guest complaints regarding Housekeeping
service or maintenance.
14. To inspect service areas and pantries
15. To train new Housekeeping employees and monitor their
performance.
16. To handle accidents and emergencies.
17. To check work performance of subordinates and provide
necessary on the job training.
18. To ensure that subordinates give standard guest amenities
19. To take charge of all operations duties in the absence of the
Executive Housekeeper and Asst. Exec. Housekeeper
20. To prepare and issue A.M room status report.
21. To take charge of all operations duties in the absence of the
Executive Housekeeper
22. To assign responsibilities to subordinates and to check on
Housekeeping Attendants grooming, personal hygiene and
dress code.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

1. To plan and schedule staff leave.


2. To organize and compile room linen, guest supplies and cleaning supplies
inventory.
3. To plan, evaluate and give suggestion for improvement.
4. To keep record and monitor production report.
5. To schedule, monitor and report on newly recruited staff and trainees.
6. To evaluate, counsel and interview staff.
7. To study and summarize adverse guest comments.
8. To read and follow up Log Book.
9. To interview and short list job application.
10. To update and keep records on all rehabilitation projects as well as work
completed by outside contractors.
11. To ensure that all employees report for duty punctually wearing the correct
uniform and name tag at all times.
12. To ensure that all employees provide a courteous and professional service
at all times.
13. To assist in the training of the employees ensuring that they have the
necessary skills to perform their duties with the maximum efficiency
14. To supervise the employees within the department, ensuring that the
correct standards and methods of service are maintained.
15. To ensure that all employees have a complete understanding of and
adhere to the hotel’s rules and regulations.
16. To ensure that all employees have a complete understanding of and
adhere to the hotel’s policy relating to Fire, Health and Safety.
