The boundary-value problems of beam-column subjected to uniform-distributed transverse load

(w) and axial compressive load (P):
𝑑2𝑦 𝑃 𝑤𝑥 2 𝑤𝐿𝑥
+ 𝑦 = −
𝑑𝑥 2 𝐸𝐼 2𝐸𝐼 2𝐸𝐼
with boundary conditions y (0) = 0 and y(L) = 0.
1. Determine the solution of beam-column where P = 1, EI = L = 1 and w = 24.
2. Determine the solution of beam-column where P = 0, EI = L = 1 and w = 24 using
double-integration.
3. Compare the solution of problems 1 and 2 for 0 ≤ x ≤ 1, plot the solutions using MS
Excel with step size Δx = 0.1, or WolframAlpha.
