In the movie I watched with the title “The Gift” I was became emotional because his son didn’t
even think that his father’s efforts and hard works were valued, but instead he was kept saying
that he wanted to be rich more than his father. And did not even look at his father’s debt,
likewise he ask his father why we are not rich? And his father reply being rich is not about how
much you have but how much you give, somehow when you give you’ll be happier. And his
father teach his son that whatever kind of help you can have to other offer it with whole
hearted and effort because in a simple way of kindness you can give inspiration and motivation
to others. In contrary his son wasn’t happy because he didn’t even look at his father as an
inspiration. This how Aristotle want me to understand deeper his quote, because even how
giant am I in intellect and also that’s small am I in my character.
On the other hand, the movie’s taught me how to be giant in my good attitude because the
moral values I will gained is better than the gift of material things that world can give me, and
appreciate the hard works of people that shows to me. And also it gave me insight that sooner
or later I will die so that as of now I will enjoy my life with good hobbits and because the
intellect and learnings I have can’t be passed to the next generation but good works I have
done will always be remember.
Furthermore, in the film the son lately realized that the works of his father are all for him and
the father want to show that all his son need is to have a good character and attitude, and
somehow I understand well that having a high intellect but doesn’t have a good virtue is still
nothing. Because at the end having good character is like having all things in this world.
Lastly, having good character is better than having high intellect, because knowledge can be
acquired through every lives conversation, experience and through the teaching but having a
good character is innate and inherent from our parents.
