1. SecureAdmin v4.1.5.0.1.0.0

SecureAdmin version 4.1.5.0.1.0.0 is only certified for use with V-Series 4G products.

1.1. Bug fixed in this release

# Description

1 For templates enrolled on smart cards by 4G units with “Use Wiegand String”
checked, the Wiegand string sent out to the access panel at verify time will be
incorrect.

Bug No. Description

Using a SecureAdmin client installed on a Windows XP PC now works with

SecureAdmin Server installed on a Windows Vista PC

SecureAdmin logs an entry in the SecureAdmin event log for the "Smart Card
2 Transfer Fail" event while transferring a template to a smart card which is
already having the maximum number of templates

In the prior releases, during SecureAdmin Client and Server installation, when
user moves to next screen from the “Choose Destination Location” screen, a
3 folder is created with specified details, which was not removed if user selects
any other folder name using “Back” button. This has been corrected in this
release

The message displayed when clicking on the 'Clear' button on the LED Settings
4 tab of Device Settings, is changed to "Do you want to clear LED and Sound
settings?"

When un-registering a device from the network, on the confirmation dialog,

there will be an option to delete all the templates from the device

The template list of a device is refreshed every time a template is

copied/moved, or deleted from the list

During template transfer, in case of failure due to template format mismatch,

the summary will show the template format on the source and the destination

In the Application Event Log, if the medium of communication with the device is
8 Ethernet, the 'Port' field would be blank, and if it is Serial Communication, the IP
Address field would be blank

When extended ID is enabled, on the Compare Templates screen, Password

and Employee ID fields will be blank

After importing templates to the database, the focus now returns to the Import
10
Templates screen.

Few cosmetic changes are done on the Access Control Panel Feedback screen

in Device Settings

Few cosmetic changes are done on the Device Security screen in Device

In the prior releases, there were issues in SecureAdmin after naming a new
13 custom wiegand format with the name that already existed. These issues have
been resolved

In the prior releases, during enrollment, the "Hold Smart Card close to reader"
message did not close if the card was moved away from the reader when this
14
message was shown while retrieving Template ID from Smart Card. This has
been corrected in this release

When registering a device through Auxiliary port, if the Auxiliary port on the
15
device is locked, SecureAdmin shows "Device not Found" message

In the prior releases, clicking 'Apply' on the Miscellaneous tab of Device

Settings resulted in an error. This has been corrected in this release

A template without Extended ID can be viewed from the device template list of
17
a device which supports Extended ID

During template import, if a template is linked with an enterprise user, and then
18
un-linked, the enterprise user will not be added to the user's list

On Oracle database, deleting templates from database selected with the

'Select All' option when the templates are filtered now works fine

20 Firmware upgrade on RS-485 Serial communication now works correct

SecureAdmin shows "No finger detected" when no finger is placed for more

than 30 seconds during enrollment.

The registration of a device will not fail if the device IP Address is changed from
22
static to DHCP during registration

Securing smart card will proceed even if the sitekey.xml file is not available at
23
the SecureAdmin Client installation location

In the prior releases, SecureAdmin was not able to register a device from the
24 client if the device was connected via serial communication to the server. This
has been corrected in this release

In the prior releases, SecureAdmin sent out inverted parameters to the Panel
25
for conditions High and Low. This has been corrected in this release

User modes - 'Card + Biometric', 'Biometrics' and 'No Rule' can now be applied
26
to templates on devices with Prox readers

27 A dynamic message can now be set on multiple devices

A new action 'Time Override Mode" is added to LED Settings for which only
28 LED can be configured. Also, Time Override Mode can be enabled for V-Flex
devices too.

Templates will now have a new field 'Template Expiry Date', indicating when
29
the templates will expire.

When user rights are revoked, the tabs and windows associated with those
30
rights will not be displayed

Verification from LCD Keypad cannot be initiated unless 'Activate LCD

Verification' is checked on the LCD tab of Settings

SecureAdmin will now remember the last device used for enrollment for
32
subsequent enrollments, and select it by default

In the prior releases, when transferring a template from device to database, the
33
template name was not transferred. This has been corrected in this release

Reset Site Key' action will be logged to Device Transaction Log and
34 SecureAdmin Event Log, and 'Create Site Key' action will be logged to the
SecureAdmin Event Log

Sorting of template list by dynamic message fields - “Dynamic Message Status”


35 and “Dynamic Message Content“ from Device and Database template lists is
not possible

The summary for synchronization if it involved a template whose Index was

changed from the LCD, is corrected

Prior to this release, during installation of SecureAdmin Client and Server,


37 some options were not selected by default. They were selected after moving
mouse over them. This has been corrected in this release

When 'Activate LED Control' is enabled with 'LED controlled by reader during
38
biometric verification' option selected, Sound settings will be enabled.

V-Flex products support Panel Modes 'Disable' and 'Accept/Reject' only. Panel
39
mode 'Accept/Reject/PIN' is not supported on V-Flex products.

Users having privilege of Dynamic Message can attach Dynamic Message to a


40
template from Template Management

On the Communication tab of Device Settings, if both Ethernet and WLAN IP


41 addresses are specified, the Ethernet IP address was overwritten by the WLAN
IP address. This has been corrected in this release

SecureAdmin and LCD will now show the correct IP address of a DHCP
42
enabled device communicating over WLAN

Prior to this release, after Sensor Test, 'Auto Finger Detect' option was left
43
enabled. This has been corrected in this release

Prior to this release, dynamic message information of a template on device was


44 shown in device templates list only. Now it will be shown in database templates
list as well.

Prior to this release, 'To this ID and all indices' option of applying Dynamic
45 Message was not working correct for TEM/MTM/TMS template formats. This
has been corrected in this release.

Prior to this release, there was an issue when multiple devices with different
template formats are registered with SecureAdmin. If templates are transferred
46 from Database to all devices, after the transfer, on accessing the devices, an
error 'Channel to communicate with device is busy' was displayed. This has
been corrected in this release.

Prior to this release, while uploading the language file (.qm) to the device, there

was communication error. This has been corrected in this release.

In the prior release, when upgrading SecureAdmin server and migrating


database from SQL Server 2005 to SQL Server 2008, if choosing to keep SQL

Server 2005 and create an instance of SQL Server 2008, SecureAdmin
database was not migrated properly. This has been corrected in this release

49 Transaction log action names will not have "Action" word at the end of string.

Scrollbars will not be shown on the Advanced Enrollment screen when re-

enrolling fingers that produce poor quality fingerprint images

When an audio file is broadcasted to multiple devices, if device fails to set that
file as the default file, SecureAdmin will now show upload passed in summary
51
statistics. In SecureAdmin Application Event Log, two events - Audio file upload
and Audio parameters set - will be logged.

In the prior release, there was a problem with SecureAdmin in filtering the

templates by Template Name. This has been corrected in this release

Duplicate entries are removed from the 'User Type' filter on the Transaction Log

screen

The parameters for Miscellaneous tabs are now reset by the 'Others' option of

Reset To Factory Defaults from SecureAdmin

An option is provided on the Communication tab of Device Settings for


55 displaying the encryption key for wireless communication in clear text or
masked characters

56 The finger will not have to be placed before starting Sensor Test

Application debug logs for SecureAdmin server and client will not pile up in the
Log folder. There would be a maximum of five log files in this folder, with size
57
not exceeding 512 KB. Existing log files would be overwritten when the limit is
achieved.

When the user has privileges of “Enroll User”, the user will be able to save the
58
enrolled template to the device which was used for enrollment.

When templates are transferred in bulk from database to the device, prior to
59 this release, SecureAdmin would show incorrect summary for the operation.
This has been corrected in this release.

Upon refreshing the Database or device tab, hidden column preferences will be
