SUMMARY
The speaker, James Hansen, in the ted talk talks about the impacts climate change has on
our planet and humanity and the reasons why we should take action. In the 80s a report
was published by him predicting some climatic changes. For example the increase level
of temperature and CO2 due to the greenhouse effect. In the 21st century he predicted the
change of climate zones, droughts, erosion of ices sheets, sea levels rising and the
opening of the fabled Northwest Passage. These predictions now are facts since no one
really believed him back then and there was no action taken in order to prevent climate
change from getting this serious as it is now. A solution to the climate change is to
reduce CO2 in order to restore energy balance and prevent further warming since there’s
an imbalanced energy in Earth ,that is more energy is going in than going out. If we had

now the problem has gotten worse as the years passed and if we don’t take measures
soon, it would be impossible to stop climate change.
